We liked staying in this hotel, there were minor cons what we did not liked like cold jacuzzi, but overall great place to spend vacation. I did miss Wi-Fi free of charge.

We stayed at the Porto Bay Falesia on week of 11/10/09 and must say we were made to feel most welcome. Our room was large and comfortable and although we had a garden room we still had a sea view from our balcony. Staff are helpful and nothing is too much trouble. All staff are friendly and everyone greets you. Any queries are attended to willingly and promptly and if they can't help, they will find someone else who will. We stayed on a B&B basis and ventured out each evening for our meals. Other meals in the hotel are pricey but i'm sure of good quality. Entertainment at the hotel wasn't that great but that depends on your taste and possibly your age group as we felt it was geared more towards an audience of 55+. Only comment is the hotel is not actually located 'on the beach' - its a 15 minute walk down 100 or so steps - easier going down to the beach then the return journey! Would also be great if the hotel accommodated more English speaking TV channels or at least one English speaking movie channel. Thank you Porto for a great holiday! We loved it and will definitely return!

We stayed in the hotel for a week at the end of Sep 2009 and really enjoyed the holiday. The hotel is very modern and very clean. I really liked that there was no "deck chair" booking and there was always lots of space around the pool.

The room was large and modern and very clean. They have a kettle, tea and coffee in the room which we found very nice. There is also good size balcony.

The staff in the hotel were very good and in particular the room cleaners.

I would point out a few things

The sandy beach is lovely and you can walk for 8-10 km.

There are 135 steps down to the beach which may cause some people problems.

We hired a car to travel around for a few days on the net via, good price compared to booking at resort, at argusrentals.com and they then used a local agent Visa Car Rental. They were very good and came out to the hotel to deliver and collect the car.

We had half board. The food in the hotel was good with a good choice at breakfast and dinner. We tended to eat in the town at lunchtime and there are a number of nice places to eat in the village. There is a small local sandwich bar just down the hill on the right with yellow awnings which was fine for a sandwich and coffee at lunch.

I agree with some prior postings that they do starting taking food away at 2030 during dinner so would advise to go down earlier.

The local village is small and had a few bars but it would not be the liveliest place. That suited us but may not suit others.

We would stay here again.

I stayed at this hotel with around 60 colleagues who were at the hotel as part of a "reward" for being A Performers for the company we work for (Top Performers)

The hotel was very nice and a very nice swimming pool.

The rooms very large with plenty of space, very modern and just all round great.

The service front he staff in the hotel is much more of a standard of a 5 star hotel than a 4 star hotel and the food at the hotel is also very good.

At breakfast you were also able to get campaign!

The hotel also has conference rooms which we in one of them and this was also nice with air conditioning.

While we were at the hotel it was very relaxing as well.

I would highly recommend this hotel to everyone to go to and stay at!
