My husband and I stayed at the Britania 21-26 May based on other trip advisor user reviews. And it's true. It is a stylish hotel with friendly staff that is perfectly located. Oh and the bed was incredibly comfortable, the room was beautifully decorated, large and immaculately clean, the bathroom well equipped with a bubbly bath of hot water available in moments, the street quiet, and the breakfast wide ranging and tasty. The metro stop is very close - and the airport bus stops at the same place and it's easy to find. We ate in a number of local eateries including Luca and La Caffa, and there are plenty of others to choose from as you aren't far from the centre. We found cafe and restaurant recommendations in the Lonely Planet guide to Lisbon very good. Be warned though - Lisbon is very cobbled - you really do need strong and comfortable shoes! Great things to do while there include seeing the Lalique jewellery collection on display at the Gulbenkian and the art deco exhibition (until Sept 2007) on in Sintra (half an hour's train journey from Lisbon).
