I stayed in this hotel once and will not go there again. Main reason is that I can't stand noisy hotels and this one is REAL noisy. Staff is not very enthusiastic at all and the building is old and not nice at all. Rooms are ok but not to nice and average cleaned at the best. Elevators are slow and small. Somebody said the hotel is noicy in the morning.. it's more like all the night and hugely noisy after say 4 AM. I'd stay away.

We stayed at the Fenix for 3 nights and found it very pleasant but it didn't quite meet the 4* rating. the beds were a little hard for our liking and there was no tea tray. This could have made a big difference to our stay as we didn't like the type of coffee served in Lisbon. We now realise that we should have taken our own kettle and coffee. On arrival we asked if we could possibly have a balcony room. There are only a few of these on the top floor but we were given one of these at no extra charge. It was fabulous. The balcony was the largest we've ever had in a hotel room being approx 25'x12'. We had a veiw over the busiest roundabout in Lisbon which was always entertaining. The only drawback to this was the seemingly continuous noise of the police sirens. They seem to use them for no reason at all. We found the hotel very friendly and very very clean in all areas. We ate in the hotel restaurant 2 nights out of 3. The food was very good as was the breakfast in the morning. Plenty of choice both continental and cooked. Prices for food and drink were on a par with the rest of Lisbon. Travelling around Lisbon is very easy and inexpensive. I would recomend this hotel to my friends if they were going to Lisbon because it is really central with the Metro right outside the front door. Thanks Fenix for a lovely stay.

Recently stayed at this hotel with my wife and was kind of shocked. We’re usually stayed at 5 stars, but this time was exception. We came to hotel at 10:00 and I asked if we can check-in, was no problem we got our room at 5th floor, drop our luggage and go straight to the street to find a restaurant. After we came back it was so noisy, it was impossible to stay in the room. Electric drills were working upstairs. I asked for the room change but got an interesting answer. The problem was our check-in time, as hotel presented us few more hours of staying cause of the noisy room, I wasn’t even informed. And we have to pay 150 euros, just to change room. It makes me laugh. Good option! I asked if I can use safe, and got the magic key for just 2 euros per day. I signed the contract with a hotel, in case I lost this key I have to pay compensation 10000 usd. I have photo of this paper, it’s normal at this hotel!!! When we came back to hotel at 22:00, electric drills were fully on. It was mystic for me, if it’s possible to pay 150 euros per night for the place where impossible to stay for 10 minutes! I have very good conversation at the reception, and I returned to my room with their promise – they’ll stop working in 30 minutes. We were granted some sleep time! At 9 a.m. in the morning I woke up – drills were on fire again! As for the breakfast it was ok, just ok. Room quality is definitely not 4 stars; I have to give it maximum 3. No way I’ll recommend it to anyone.

The Management of HF Fénix Lisboa would like to thank you for your preferences.

All those who work in our hotel aim at providing our Guests with a very pleasant stay at the HF Fénix Lisboa. It is with great disappointment that we have read your opinion about your stay in HF Fénix Lisboa.

In what concerns the noisy of the works to the side of the hotel, we are sorry, but although the works to be for a hotel of the group Fénix Hotels, the same one is it delivers to a responsible construction company for the execution of the related works.
However these works already had finished, so please visit us in the new HF Fénix Garden or in one of our hotels and change the image you were left with.

We hope to see you soon at our hotels and we thank you for the trust and loyalty you have in HF Fénix Hotels.

I've never had a more difficult, more frustrating, or more upsetting experience than I did with the Hotel Club and the Fenix Hotel in Lisbon.
When our flight out of Toronto to Newark was delayed by 5 hours we missed our connection to Lisbon and therefore couldn't make it to our reservation (which we had already paid for). The Hotel Club hours are terrible - 9am-5pm daily! - who works on these hours. We tried calling all Hotel Club numbers to let them know that we wouldn't be at the hotel as scheduled but couldn't get them until the morning because no one was working. We also called the Hotel Fenix to let them know we weren't coming and they were 100% unhelpful and totally did not care at all.
When I was finally able to speak to someone at hotel club I explained the problem and they assured me they were going to help. They even put me on hold to say they were on the other line with the Hotel Fenix...they came back and said all was done, no problem, our hotel reservation would now be changed to the following night.
When we arrived in Lisbon a day late we went to check into the Hotel Fenix only to find there was no record of our reservation changing and they couldn't and wouldn't do anything to help us. If we wanted to stay we would have to pay for another night and we weren't getting our money back. They said it was up to Hotel Club to send a written fax and they hadn't.
I tried calling every number I had for Hotel Club, both local and overseas, and couldn't get a single person on the line to help. I've tried Hotel Club countless times since then and I'm on hold (as I type this) again!
I will be sure to post this review on every travel site possible because we had the worst experience and wouldn't want anyone else to waste their time with this company! Stay away from Hotel Club!!!!!!

The Fenix is very well located. Metro is outside the door.Fenix Group Hotels are being upgraded at present but it has not reached Lisbon.Rooms are small and there is building work going on at the back of the hotel.Noisy in the morning. We encountered a very rude member of staff when we asked for directions and had the map almost thrown at us. Bar is poorly stocked and quite small. Staff generally are pleasent. We were charged €2 euros a day for the safe.
