We were a party of 10 in 5 twin rooms. All were big enough with very roomy bathrooms, having bath & shower. Rooms cleaned daily and towels changed as required. Breakfast room pleasant but could get a little busy, choice probably above average for this standard of hotel. Very good lounge with plenty of comfy chairs and travel books to read. 24 hour reception worked well, and all could speak some English, most very well. Overall the hotel was very clean with lots of tiles to give it a nice traditional feel.

One of its best assets is its location - on Portas de Santo Anteo, a walking street with plenty of restaurants, although some may find the waiters trying to entice you inside a bit touristy. But it is on the flat and you can walk everywhere, using trams to go uphill if necessary.

We used Lisbon Tour Guides www.lisbongt.com and found them excellent - Isabel took us around the city and Paula took us to Sintra - thoroughly recommended. And they were very flexible with the itinerary which made both trips feel tailor made for us.

Found eating out could be a bit varied in standards but overall it was good value for money and there were no rip offs on the wine. The fish in particular was a very good choice.

Had no problems with pickpockets although we did have a "suspect" character on the 28 tram who eventually decided to try his luck elsewhere.

All in all a thoroughly enjoyable 5 days and a city we would return to.

This was my 3rd stay at this centrally located hotel and each time it gets better. Over the last couple of years it has been through a renovation project so that the bedrooms are now refurbished with new carpets and curtains, good beds, pleasant bathrooms and air conditioning. The reception area and lobby has also been made-over with a new lift and comfortable seating areas.

This time we stayed in a room on the front and it can be noisy, but when the daytime temperature is over 90 degrees it makes sense to keep the windows and shutters closed and use the air conditioning to keep cool.

At 55 euros a night, including a decent breakfast, this is the best value place in town. And the location couldn't be better, with a taxi rank at the end of the street and a metro stop around the corner with the airport bus stop next to it. The restaurants close to the hotel cater for all tastes and price ranges, and the sites are all walkable from here.

Great place to stay, spotless. Felt safe at night going to theater ,out for dinner.or sitting at cafes. This could have made me feel uncomfortable as a single woman alone, not here!

I loved this hotel!!! It was wonderful. It is in a great location. The room was very, very nice. Nice furniture. Shower stall, no tub. Elevator. Everything was nice, from the lobby, to the stairs, with tiled walls. Wake-up calls worked perfectly. Nice breakfast. Cold cuts w/ cheese, etc. Help yourself style in a nice dining room. Plenty of coffee, juices, etc. Front desk staff were helpful. Internet is in the lobby, charged to your room with an access code. The price was incredible. I booked through a tourist site in portugal & it was something like 40 euros per night. This really is a lovely hotel in an excellent location. You won't be disappointed!

“Good location and nice price”

The location for this hotel is very goog! A walking distance from almost everything and if you're not into walking, buses and metro is near. There are a lot of nice restaurants near the hotel, which is nice, but if your window is facing the street, it might be a good idea to have your earplugs with you incase you are a light sleeper.

We stayed here 5 nights. The room was quite small but clean and there's nothing to complain about the bathroom. Breakfast is simple but okay: rolls, cheese, ham, youghurt and cereals. Some vegetables could have been nice but we never left the hotel hungry.

I would definitely stay here again if I go back to Lisbon. The hotel is good value and the price we paid was definitely worth it. Considering that this is a recidencial and not a 3-star hotel, you really should try this one and be happily surprised.
