We turned up in the evening having taken a Taxi from the airport to be told by the receptionist., “I have some good news and some bad news”. The bad news is that there has been a mistake with our booking system and we do NOT have any rooms. The good news is that we have found you rooms in an equivalent hotel in the Financial quarter." The receptionist showed us the Hotel directory and the Hotel looked OK and she arranged and paid for a Taxi to take us to the Hotel Olissippo. This was an acceptable hotel, but whereas some reviewers here said the restaurant is excellent for dinner at Travel Park, the same can NOT be said for the Olissippo. If the same happens to you (the receptionist said some 6 or 7 bookings were affected) my advice is take the metro to the Restauradores Station, where there are lots of restaurants to choose. There are very few restaurants in the Financial area and the one we chose on our second night in the Financial area was a disapointment. After that we had learned our lesson and took the metro.

I booked hotel by www.booking.com - double room with breakfast/night for 55 euro!!! at reception price was 130!!!!
Clean comfortable room, a lot of TV programs, A/C, minibar, safe, 100m to metro Anjos - to old city 2 stations, to air port by metro and bus 20-25 minutes.

I stayed there for a night on 12th Jan. Its at a very good location, Clean room and bathroom. I had read about the booking problems- so emailed for my confirmation 2 day s prior to leaving and received a prompt reply.
Unfortunately it does not have a restaurant so we had to go out again at night for dinner. The signs still indicate a restaurant at level 1. Breakfast was varied and good in amount. Do avoid the fruit juice though, it absolutely vile , purely synthetic and chemical.

Stayed here for a few days in October, 2007. It is well situated, about a 10 minute walk from downtown. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We arrived at 10AM and figured we would just check our bags until regular check in time. We were pleasantly surprised when we were allowed to check in so early. The breakfast was included in our room price and was more than adequate. Very happy with our stay here
