My husband is disabled and the staff really put themselves out to help us, particularly the receptionists and the temporary bus driver. The steps to the front of the hotel are quite steep without any rails and not easy for anyone with walking problems but the receptionists came out to help us. The gardens are beautiful but the paths are cobbled making them slippery when wet. It was unfortunate that it was raining most of the time as being on a hillside, the hotel was at times shrouded in mist. We stayed B&B and the breakfasts were very good with everything fresh, including their delicious home made cakes. We tried the evening table d'hote but 5 courses were too much and found the a la carte menu more to our liking. Service was fantastic at dinner with great attention to detail. Courtesy bus service was very good and punctual. Receptionists very knowledgeable with advice on restaurants and best museums.
