We spent 5 days (for the price of 4) in a superior room in this beautiful Quinta. After the shock of its location (all the photos hide the roundabout, and huge blocks of apartments surrounding it) we discovered that it is actually a peaceful oasis. The superior rooms (ground floor) are beautifully furnished with large marble bathrooms, all spotlessly clean with good quality linen etc. There is no traffic noise - the rooms are doubled glazed and the aircon is extremely quiet and efficient. The Quinta is a refurbished old palace with about 6 rooms in the original house and I think about 20 in the new wing (we didn't see the rooms there). The public rooms on the first floor are lovely, with exhibitions of art and sculpture. Breakfast is served in a huge room on the first floor (there are elevators) which goes onto a terrace where we ate our breakfast (which was superb - fresh fruit, cereals, breads, egg, bacon etc). I am disabled and found access very easy to all parts of the hotel. The outdoor pool isn't heated, but was lovely when we were there in the June heatwave (35 degC!) The staff are superb. For those of you who want to watch TV - they have cable TV in each room with many channels! The hotel is about a 10 minute walk into the old town of BRAGA (we had to drive as it was so far for me). The hop on/hop off city tour bus which starts in the main square near Braga Shopping (this is like the Tardis - you don't know its there until you get in it!) is well worth doing. There are some truly beautiful churches in and around Braga. Its such a shame that they've built so many tower blocks (its very easy to get lost! so make sure you have a map when driving in!)
