The hotel is nice and easy to find if you are travelling via the Metro. Simply catch the Metro at the Airport and get off at Bolhao, the cost is 2.30. Keep your blue ticket, because when and you top up on your return the cost will be 1.80. At Bolhao you will find yourself in the main shopping street and the hotel is only a 10 minutes walk away. The hotel is also in easy walking distance to the river, churches and the Port wine cellars of course. The staff at the Ibis were very welcoming on our arrival and even took time out to show us the various sites of interest. The room is small, but nevertheless cozy. The Ibis has free internet access and a further computer can also be found in the lounge if you have left your devices at home. The breakfast is simple, but a good way of starting your day. Just opposite the hotel there is a restaurants called Comibebe Carioca that charges around 4.50 euros for an even meal and 6 euros for a large bottle of decent red wine. They are a very nice couple at the restaurant and hopyfully you maybe able to eat there one night when your legs won't carry you much further. If you are stuck for anything just next to the hotel there is a quite a large Super Market called Pingo Doçe. In conclusion if you want a lovely break in a beautiful city and don't fancy paing over the odds then the Ibis is for you. By the way if you walking to the sites just down the road from the hotel just take a look in a little shop that sells loads of toy carousels they are amazing.
