My husband and I spent two nights here on the last part of our honeymoon.
It was by far the least desirable hotel during our entire vacation. Looking at the pictures on the web site before we went, I was really excited to stay here. Of course, the pictures focus on the remodeled lobby and not the rooms. The lobby is BEAUTIFUL. The rooms are awful. We opened the door to a disgusting smell, like the combination of smoke and body odor - and we were in a non-smoking room. The view out the window was of a rundown building so close it looked like we could reach out and touch it - so much for the Acropolis. Our queen bed was merely two twins pushed together. And this was our honeymoon! We went downstairs and asked to switch rooms, which they were happy to do, thank goodness. I was hoping for a huge improvement with our new room (since we were sure to mention we were on our honeymoon) but to no avail. Still no view - we instead got a room facing another part of the hotel, so looking out our window we looked into other people's rooms; and the courtyard below looked like a garbage dump. At least the room had a queen bed and didn't smell. But I didn't get the impression the place was very clean - just run down, really needing new furnishings and decor. (We also joked that the rooms were tiny to make us feel like were were actually on the Titanic - and we felt like we were in the steerage section!)
On the plus side, the breakfast was AWESOME. The biggest buffet selection of any place we stayed; there was fresh juice, all kinds of pastries, fruit, pancakes, sausage, cereal, yogurt, the list could go on forever! Our last morning there we had to leave at 4am to catch our flight, but they still had plenty to choose from for breakfast, which I was grateful for.
The location is good - we were able to walk to the Museum (which I recommend), and various places to shop. The rooftop views are not quite what they show you in pictures - on the web site they actually make the Acropolis look MUCH bigger and closer than it is! Very deceptive. But it was beautiful anyway. Our last night we had drinks and appetizers at the Olive Garden, which were good, but we didn't get any entrees because we couldn't afford it! You really are paying for the view, which is free if you just want to take a look around and not stay to eat.
Overall, I would most certainly NOT stay at this hotel again, unless they decide to remodel the rooms to match the quality of the lobby, and if we were guaranteed an Acropolis view.
