I stayed at several Intercontinentals around the World, but this one is one of the best.
Great service at the desk, incredible nice room and bathroom.
Location is so so, but at least easy accessable.
I recomend this hotel.

I stayed at this hotel for a few days. The rooms were lovely and spacious. the amenities were good, staff friendly and helpful. the food served in all the restaurants was of a very high standard. Best of all for me was the SPA. I had the best facial there - the algotherm regeneration - i came away from the hotel relaxed and glowing. i would definitely stay there again.
a couple of items of note. internet acess is by wireless but is expensive if you want to have access all around the hotel.
taxis to the hotel should cost about €30 - €35 from the airport but i got charged €60 and some other people i know were charged€100 be ware. agree the price up front or make sure that they will charge by the metre.

Stayed at the IC Athens in February 2008 and was thoroughly impressed.
The hotel has large, clean and spacious rooms with an excellent restaurant on the top floor with amazing views of the Parthenon and delicious food.
The hotel has one of the best gyms I’ve ever seen as well, with a wide range of new equipment (outdoor pool only though, closed in winter).
The location isn’t so good though, and you’ll need to take a taxi to get to the best parts of Athens (although I believe that’s pretty normal).

I chose the Intercontinental for it's reputation of quality and wasnt disappointed in that way.
The rooms are quite spacious and there are a few things that I especially enjoyed; the powerful shower pressure, the fact that you can continue on listening to the telly from the speakers in the bathroom and the bathrobe.
Speaking of bathrobe, I expected there to be two of them since I had booked a room for 2, but perhaps that is not the standard.
Other than that, there was nothing in the hotel that made me say Ooh-la-la, but nothing made me shake my head either. Except maybe the horrid nouveau-art sculpture in the hotel lobby of the blue man (or is it the man in blue?).
The shuttle service is frequent and the drivers polite, it stops at Syntagma Square, but seemingly they dont have a problem dropping you off in the Acropolis area if you ask.
Also I had a lovely salad in Cafe Zoe (which is in the hotel near the front desk) upon my arrival from the UK, and was happy to see they were still serving a full menu until midnight.
Altogether it was worth the money and a pleasant stay.
