To book, we used Fantasy Travel in Athens (across the square from this hotel). The rooms were gorgeous and large. We wanted an Acropolis view and both times we stayed here, we recceived a very pleasing room w/ a great view. All the staff were very attentive. We would definately stay here again. Much more pricey than the last trip (when we stayed at Divani Acropolis). But location and quality are well worth it.

Stayed here for 3 nights in March 2008, while attending a conference in the hotel Ballroom.
What can I say? We spent a good quality time here. All the expected comfort from a five stars. Just look at the photos posted by other travelers. And the location is very convenient as it allows easy access (10min by walk) to Acropole. The only comment I have is related to the small size of the spa.

“Super fancy... very luxurious”

Unfortunately, our ferry got in late and we only got to spend about 8 hours in this hotel, but it was an amazing place... worthy of five stars.

My husband and I picked this place to stay for the last night of our honeymoon because we wanted to go all out.

It was a truly luxurious place...ballrooms, the whole nine yards. It's super expensive, but if cost is no problem, this is a great place to stay. It's right across the street from the express bus to the airport (though the people at the desk didn't know that... lol... i'm guessing most of their clientele don't take the bus) and right across the street from the sygmata (i don't remember how to spell it) metro station that also takes you to the airport. It's within walking distance of the Acropolis (about a 10 minute walk to the base of the entrance) and right near the Plaka district. It's a convenient place to stay.

The bed was super comfy and the bathroom was super luxurious. There was a switch next to the bed that controlled the lights in the bathroom.... a great feature for when you got up in the middle of the night.

I wish we had more time here. A great place!

The breakfast was SUPER expensive... over $30 for just a basic breakfast. So I went across the street to a street vendor and bought a croissant and orange juice for about 3 euros. :)

“The King George Palace is by far the best in Athens”

King George Palace

15 Feb 2008

Over the years, we have stopped multiple times in Athens for the past 17 years as we visited Greece or traveled elsewhere. Sometimes we stayed in Athens for only a night in each direction, and others for weeks at a time. We have stayed at just about every 'luxury' property in Athens and have found no other hotel that provides a constant level of service and luxury.
As American travelers, we know we can be picky and unique in our desires when staying at a hotel. The Manager and the Front Desk Manager are always around to ensure that your stay is exactly as you expected. The entire staff not only makes us feel at home while we are there, but they make us feel like family.
The hotel is perfectly located for anyone who is visiting Athens, the surrounding areas of Greece or just stopping before or after a cruise to the islands.
The rooms are large, exquistely decorated and offer individual air-conditioning and heating controlled by 'you' in 'your' room. Unfortunately, many other 'luxury' hotels in Athens advertise a/c or heat in the winter...but the temperature is controlled by the hotel, not the guest. The bathrooms are modern, clean and have all the amenities you could ask for.
BUT, the most important thing about the King George is their beds...they are true queen and king size beds...not two beds put together, with a seam in the middle that you will fall through in the middle of the night. The mattresses are truely comfortable and luxurious.
The view of the Acropolis each morning while having breakfast cannot be compared to any other in the world.
This is the first time I have written a review on TripAdvisor, but after staying at the hotel five times since it opened in 2004, I feel I can honestly say what I have said.
