“Decent”

Delphi Art Hotel

Close to the metro, big rooms and big bathrooms (for Greece!), and the area isn't as bad as the poster below makes out.... I was with two friends (we are all females in our early 20s), and we had no problems at all... We never felt unsafe in the area at night.

The staff are helpful and speak good English. The breakfast was ok, and we stayed on the 3rd floor. The traffic and the noise wasn't too bad at all, and we were at the front! :)

The area around the hotel is not safe. Our cab driver on dropping us off told us we were in a bad area, but it didn't appear that bad. However, walking home at night was very uncomfortable. The hotel is just a few blocks from a square that got pretty rough at night with groups of just cracked out kids. Some native Athenians we are friends with confirmed after the fact that we were in a rough area. We're young and have traveled extensively and it was one of most unsafe i've felt in a city in a longtime. The location was not bad as far as proximity to things, but was not as centrally located as we thought from the reviews. For the money, there are definitely better places.

This is a really hospitable hotel in the center of the Athens. Personnel is friendly and helpful.
The hotel's location is great, next to the Metro station close to Acropolis (2 minutes with tube or 10 minutes walk). The room was very light and comfort. It also has a very good wireless internet connection available for those who like to. Breakfast was plenty and there was always coffee available eachtime we asked for. I had to stay for three nights only but i promise i will come back soon.

We enjoyed our two nights at the Delphi Art Hotel in Athens. After reading previous reviews, we asked for a room on a higher floor, but somehow that request didn't make it through to our reservation. When we arrived they had us in a 1st floor room, but when we asked if another room was available, they were able to change it, though he seemed surprised that we'd give up the "view". The view is only of a small square that the hotel is in, and we gladly traded it for the quiet of a room in the back. The room was quite comfortable and attractive, with a good bathroom. Best of all, the air conditioner was both effective and quiet, with a remote control so we could adjust the tempurature at night without getting out of bed. Breakfast was great, and the front desk staff were helpful and the most friendly people we dealt with in Athens. The location is quite convenient, just off Omonia Square, which has plenty of decent restaurants in the area as well as a Metro stop for quick and cheap trips to the Plaka or the Acropolis. And best of all, it's quite close to the start of the motorway, so if you're renting a car as we were, you don't have to navigate the Athens trraffic, which looked like it would be a scary experience. We were happy to get out of noisy, dirty Athens after two nights, but we were very happy with our hotel there.

We stay with my wife from 25/09/06 until 29/09/06.
We stay at room 303 a very charm room facing the church of Ag. Kontatin (you have to visit it).
The room was very clean and the stuff is real helpful and polite.
The breakfast is very very good and if you ask for other coffee except the one that they serve on breakfast they bring without charge.
Location very close to National Archeological Museum of Athens.
Also in 10 -15 minutes walking is Psiri (the night life of Athens), Monastiraki and Plaka.
If you visit ask for Maria or Stratos to give you info about the best bars.
