So lucky to have stayed in this hotel. Great rate and location, clean and well kept rooms, nice breakfast, and friendly receptionist ( hi John! )

There was only one "turn-off" to us. The rude lady receptionist who took shifts with John. She said her name was maria. One, she doesn't smile. Two, Maria can speak English but she doesn't like explaining too much on directions. She'll smirk at you when she has to explain. Not helpful at all.

My wife and I stayed last weekend in Athens at the Hotel Economy. We booked through a hotel-booking website, and were pleased with the room rate of 63euros per night. The hotel is well-located and is a good starting point for exploring Athens.
The staff is friendly, and provided lots of tourist-useful advice unprompted, which we really appreciated.
The room was fairly simple, but had a decent bathroom and a small fridge. We also had aircon (which may only be on the top floor), and a small balcony.
Breakfast was fairly simple, but adequate considering the price.
Overall we were very satisfied and would stay there again.

we stayed at Economy Hotel last week with some friends.
It is located at the city centre next to the City Hall,
we walked to all the all the places that
the staff of the Hotel informed us, what to see during our sort stay, so we haven't lost our time looking where to go and what to see.
The room was clean and warm (as it was needed during the night). The bathroom was not big, but with hot water 24 hours,
perfect for us, because we need a shower before our early departure. Breakfast (included into the rate) was nice (unfortunately no hot foods) but enough for starting the day.
they also have 2 p/c to use for internet free of charge, this was a plus for us.
Do not expect to find a 5 or 4 star Hotel but
I recomend this Hotel to any guest,
who is looking for a clean budget hotel into the city centre,
worht the money he will pay.

We chose this hotel because of the price and good reviews on Trip Advisor. But I had mixed feelings about the experience there.

Good things about the hotel:
-Decent location--within walking distance of all the sites
-Close to metro for airport access (6 Euros) (Taxi at night costs 46 Euros!!)
-Not in a really touristy area, so more authentic restaurants nearby
-Excellent typical European breakfast served from 6.30-9.30
-Friendly, helpful people at front desk
-Great price (we paid 51,50 Euro a night, including breakfast)

Not so good things:
-We found a dead cockroach in our room. Luckily we were just packing up to leave when it was discovered!!
-The entire hotel smells like smoke. Our room smelled terrible. (But then again, all of Athens smells like smoke except the metro!)
-The shower was really just a way to make a lake out of the bathroom (but from experience this is typical for Greek showers unless you are at a five star hotel)
-Sitting on the toilet meant your feet were in the shower
-The street was very noisy making it hard to sleep at night

Overall, I probably wouldn't stay there again, mainly because of the smoke and cockroach.
