This hotel is not an ordinary one. The rooms are painted with grafiti , the decoration is very modern , the reception area is unexpected, the service very good and the staff polite in a cool way, as the general spirit of this hotel is. The only problems are the small rooms (but the atmosphere is so cool that you don't mind) and the lack of a pool. If you like modern hip hotels this is one of them.

Probably had a little too high of expectations as this hotel was rated a 5 star in many reviews we read. Overall, we are happy with our stay at the Baby Grand.

It is in a good location as it is within a reasonable walking distance from many of the attractions such as the Acropolis, the Plaka and a train station is only a few minutes away.

The staff at the hotel was very friendly and helpful with any questions we had. We were very satisfied with the quality of customer service.

We ate at the restaurant downstairs (MeatMe) and the quality of the food was excellent...as good as any restaurant we ate in during our vacation in Greece and the food was reasonably priced for a hotel restaurant.

There is also a very nice lounge off the checkin-area where my wife and I shared a bottle of ouzo after dinner.

Must say howeever the room we stayed in was not nearly as impressive as we expected based on the pictures we saw and the reviews we read. The room was decent size, but certainly didn't have a five star feel to it. We also had a balcony off our room, however it looked directly at a dinghy building with some broken windows. Nothing we would have enjoyed sitting in front of for even a few minutes. The curtains to our room stayed closed the entire time we were in the room.

We stayed in a Hilton Hotel the last night in Greece after returning from Santorini and were blown away. That is truly a five star hotel..although it cost about two to three times the amount to stay there as the Baby Grand.

To sum up our stay..I would recommend this hotel as long as you go with realistic expectations. It would be somewhere closer to a three star if not for the excellent service we received. And hope/request not to stay in a room facing east!

For a 3 star European hotel, this was an above average hotel. We stayed in a double room on the top floor (8th) which had a large balcony overlooking an abandoned building, but we also had the Acropolis in the distance. The room was large for a European room. The room had high ceilings with an attractive faux crystal chandalier. The bed was comfortable at the 3 star level, but less comfortable than your average Hyatt or Westin or Renaissance, but about as comfortable as a good Holiday Inn or Holiday Inn Express. Spacious bathroom, with pedestal facebowls, so you have no counter space. In room safe worked. Mini bar was well stocked and overused by my wife. Weak cable offerings reminiscent of the old days when U.S. motels advertised HBO and you only got local television. At the Baby Grand, the shows are from around the world and in different languages (English, Greek, Arabic, French, and German). The front desk staff was extremely helpful on the level of a 4 or 5 star hotel. You'll love the funky front desk, which is a pair of modified Mini Coopers. This place has themed rooms (known as graffitti rooms) which you can only get by calling in your reservation. Ask about them. We ate at the restaurant once and found it to be a good and moderately priced experience. The hotel's location is on Omonia Square which is a bit seedy. But it is equally close to a square where a long set of elegant stores and trendy restaurants are located. It is worth the price to be located here. Internet access is available for a price if you don' tbring your computer. But wi-fi is free. The lounge area is so very generation X, Y and beyond. It's just cool.

You have to try it! It is the best hotel ever! With a wonderful garden and such a peacefull atmosphere you want to stay there foreverer! I visited last month and i had the chance to stay at the smurf room. It is absolutely marvellous! The breakfast is so different from everything you would ever try with traditional Greek tastes and home made piesusing ingredients from the owners farm in Crete! My words cannot discribe it. Just try it!
