My husband and I travel around Europe every fall, and this year we took a trip to Athens. We have stayed at three star hotels before so we knew what we were getting into. When we got to the Hotel Ilissos we were amazed! The staff was very welcoming, they had a bottle of champagne and a hand written note from the hotel manager in our room. I told the bartended that I enjoyed a local pastry and before I left she went out herself and bought me a dozen to bring home. The beds were comfortable and VERY clean. The food at the hotel was amazing and the service was absolutely amazing. Location was great and easy to find and the locals in Athens were very pleasant. At night, our room was looking at the Acropolis as well as other city sites. I would recommend staying at this property to anyone I know! Give it a try...you wont be disappointed.
