chose to stay at the St nikolaos Bay after much searching on the web and advice from friends who have been to the area.
chose July for some nice hot weather and arrived at the begining of a heatwave! Very warm 45c+ but just kept telling myself it was better than working!
really enjoyed our stay, room was fine, very well kept and had a lovely view across the pool area and out to sea, room was air conditioned which really helped and we coincided with the Wimbledon tennis so the Sat TV was a bonus.
lovely grounds which we enjoyed strolling round a couple of times a day to escape the heat, lovely private beach area and sun beds on the rocks, which were well patrolled by the cafe staff, all of whom were great.
Good food at the hotel generally, dissapointed with the a la carte restaurant, which we didn't think was great, the Tavern was good, the staff seemed a little under trained but i was on holiday and wasn't that bothered. fresh fish daily cooked to your liking under starry skies, big part of holidays in my view!
Good breakfasts, the guy who cooked all the eggs was a particularly nice fella and the staff were very pleasant, again if a little amateur.
The heat was noticably uncomfortable for some so maybe a few complimentry bottles of water would have been a good idea, at 4 euros a pop, staying alive became a bit expensive! (shop up the road a much cheaper option)
taxi's down to he town area were prompt, reccommend Migomis restaurant like everyone else and also the restaurant opposite which was certainly not a glamorous spot, but we had our best meals in there. (fresh fish and very reasonable)
One moan was that the sea water pool's filter system packed up a few times and always seemed to take an age to fix, this involved draining the pool to a certain level which made it a bit pond like, not nice while melting in the shade.
Enjoyed the cocktail bar and the excellent cocktail waiter, spent a few nights up there in a vain attempt to try every cocktail.
fellow gusts were all very pleasant, met a lovely couple from the Isle of Man who gave us the heads up on many things.
Overall i would reccommend SNB for all, we chose to do very little (again) and were never bored.
Sneaky hint - use the pool round the front of the hotel, no one was ever there everytime we went round there so had the place to ourselves!
