I can't believe all the positive reviews! I stayed in room 10 which is a second floor apartment, the apartment is a 2 bedroom and was clean and spacious, especially as I was on my own....................UNFORTUNATELY it is run by a money grabbing, self interested, unhelpful fellow (cant use the word I should) called Yianni. I booked through Olympic holidays on a two week allocation on arrival deal in October 2011, £260 which I thought to be value for money. When the transfer coach stopped at the side of the main road in the middle of nowhere, me and my fellow detainees were somewhat surprised to have to climb/step over a motorway style arnco/crash barrier! We piled our suitcases into Yiannis pickup and climbed more than walked up the hill to the apartments, people who are less mobile beware. As i intended to hire a car I had with me my satnav so soon found myself to be a fair distance from town, I like a walk but only by choice. The walk to town is about 25 mins, 35 mins strolling, not too difficult but do bring a torch if venturing out after dark. The local supermarket is 15 mins walk, is on the main road into town and is reasonably priced. At the next morning rep welcome introducton, she told us we would only get one toilet roll (!), we waited for the punchline but she was serious! 1 economy toilet roll for two weeks!! Even being on my own I would need to use both sides! The rep offered a special deal through Olympic on car hire through Europhire (i think), the same as the car she was driving so no conflict of interest there then, I did a better deal by the harbour, £160 for 10 days, unlimited miles, delivered, petrol was 1.75 euros per litre so dont get a big car. Yianni and the rep slagged off my choice of hire company but it was over £100 cheaper and in the 1500 miles I covered was not a problem, 70mpg to boot. Don't forget to take lots of photos of the car to avoid any spurious damage claims. YOU WILL NEED A CAR IF YOU WANT TO GET ABOUT, the bus station is above the town and is a fairly cheap way to travel, especially good if you don't want to drive. I can't agree more with the comments regarding the more you spend, the more Yianni likes you. Many of my fellow captives had one drink or a bar snack and felt themselves to have been robbed. His chips are 3.5 euro, someone supplied their own bacon and asked for it to be cooked and put with the chips, 8 euro please says robbing Yianni. Stock up at the Lidl or Aldi, can't remember which, around the corner or the Carrefour in town. Fill the fridge with food and drink then save a packet. From time to time some of Yianni's mates will turn up but even with this distraction, he will tell you not to eat or drink your own food by the pool, as has been written on the poolside notices. I didn't need the air conditioning as it was October, but as it can be used for heating, it might be useful on a cool evening, no doubt Yianni will oblige for the right price!
Overall I have to say the place was clean, the maid did a good job, sheets every three days, kitchen appliances were a bit tatty but functional, long way from town, reasonably open location, fine if you are adults, don't want to travel about and like to sit and sunbathe on the few sunbeds, not so good for children. Give Yyianni lots of money for food and drink if you want him to be your bestest mate...............
I have to agree, avoid the ground floor apartments unless stairs are a problem.
