Got the hotel thru booking.com for 100 euros per night. (10 euros cheaper than booking direct through the hotel). We then contacted the hotel for details (asking for sea view etc) and they happily accomodated us.
The hotel was fantastic. We asked in advance for a sea view room and they even gave us a complimentary bottle of champagne and fruit because it was our honeymoon!
The room was on the small side but we had a balcony with two chairs and a table which overlooked the old harbor and the sea. It was fantastic, the sunset was gorgeous to watch from up there and we could also watch the people below.
Below the hotel there are a few restaurants where you can sit right on the harbor and eat and we were able to go eat there a couple of times. We were right on the edge of the 'action' but at the same time were only a 5 minute walk from the main downtown, which had a lot of nice shops and winding streets and was very pleasant to walk around in.
The hotel had a computer in the downstairs bar that could be used for internet at quite a reasonable price.
The bus station for busses that take you out to other towns was about a 20 minute walk and the hotel gave us excellent directions.
There is also a free parking lot right behind the hotel which always had space and was great for parking our car when we rented one.
I was hesitant about getting a "best western" because I wanted something "greek" but this really felt more like a charming greek hotel than a "boring" US hotel.
It was perfect, I would definitely recommend this to anyone. And I loved Chania, staying there was the highlight of our trip (we went Athens-Chania-Heraklion-Santorini).
