Just returned from this hotel, stayed 2 weeks half board with my family. On the plus side its right by a good safe clean beach in a small cretan town. It also has an international mix of customers (mainly German, Danish, British, US and Greek), which we liked. The food is OK, but dont expect high cusine. It is listed 4 star, but is really 3 star as amenities dont match the advertisments. For instance the air conditioning doesnt work properly in many rooms. We complained and, it was checked but made no difference. We eventually got moved to another room (after a number of complaints), and it was just the same. We were then infomed by a family in the next room that the previous occupants had also complained to no avail. The A.C. was also turned off at night after 1st Sept, which would have been OK if you could open the windows, however excessive street noise till the early hours prevented that. Also rooms are not as big as they look on hotel web pics, and gym equipment is poor. Staff varied from very unhelpfull, to sympathetic and tried to help (depends who is on the front desk).So overall a lovely location, mediocre facilities, reasonable food, but take some ear plugs if you dont want to suffocate in your room!

If you are looking for a quiet beach holiday in a town that still has some authentic Cretian feel, than this is the place for you. If you want to go clubbing every night then it isn't.

Lovely long beach, although it's sandier and the water is warmer near the harbour. Choose one of the many recliners in front of the tavernas and chill out, they will come and ask you for a small fee at some point in the day, usually 5 euros.

Loads of lovely tavernas all along the sea front, the food is pretty good in all of them and not too exspensive. If you want a cheap and tasty lunch order a greek salad at any of these.

The centre of town is pleasant for a wander round, has a nice church, cafes to sit in, and shops selling everything you might need.

You can go to Chania for the day (which is really worth doing) for about 25 euros in a taxi, or catch a bus about 2 euros.

Day trips to further off destinations can be purchased at 'The travel club of upminster' on the main street.
