The room was a long distance from reception, but it was worth it, as we were right on the seafront with a grassy area beside our balcony and not at all overlooked. The hotel has three pools (one heated) and numerous areas for sun loungers, both beside the bools and on the beach. The Hotel's Taverna is well situated but (a) a bit pricy and (b) not open every evening. There is a spa for which you will be given a discount voucher on arrival but after your first visit you may have to haggle if you wish to get in at a reasonable price (charges are quite high). The only serious complaint is that the swimming pools were closed (or at least cordoned off) quite early in the evening, between 6 and 7 pm, so that if you arrive back then after a hard day’s sightseeing / driving, you will find it impossible to access the pools. Note that there is a good bus service (nr 1 or 6) into Iraklion from opposite the hotel; also several cheap eating places nearby (we preferred Erotikokriton but there are many others including Chinese). Also cheap car hire available from across the road (you may have to bargain to get the best price).
Superior rooms are worth the extra charge

Thank you very much for your review and and your nice comments regarding our rooms.
Concerning the pools we would like to inform you that they are cordoned off at a specific time in the evening, due to the release of chemicals, to ensure high water quality and to avoid possible allergic reactions to our guests.
Regarding the prices of our Taverna, the fact is that we had a tax increase on food & beverage to 23%.
However we do keep all your remarks in mind, in a continuous effort to improve our guests' satisfaction, and we hope to welcome you again in the near future.
