I agree that the brothers are friendly enough especially Alexi, but the spartan apartment really isn't condusive to a relaxing stay, no radio, hairdryer, kettle, toaster, nevermind TV - the supposedly Satelite TV is in Reception, always on a Greek programme, (we do want to see some English news now and then!) together with noisy gambling machines, we were looking at Euronews one day when a friend of the family came in, took the control and switched over to his programme. I protested and it was with lots of sighing and flouncing that he let go of the control. We thought that the Hotel could have made more effort to let us know that there would be a fuel strike, or that bad weather was on the way - a simple note in the bar area would have sufficed. Th welcome pack was appreciated especially for late arrivals, but boy, do they charge for those items!. By necessity we ate there a few times, okay enough food, but nothing to write home about. Take some low wattage bulbs with you if you want to read at night, the wall lights above the (very hard, uncomfortable ) beds were like search lights. ... and Folks, remember to feed the little kitties when you go, we kept all our left overs and put it across the road at night for them.

well what can i say. second time at camari gardens, just like to thank you all again for another brilliant two weeks, to reveiw it once again well what can i tell you all that has,nt been said the service is second to none, the apartments are spotless,the family makes you feel that their your own, the brothers are brill and angela is unforgettable . Okay so theres abit of building work going on near by but nothing to trouble the visitors with, the taxi into rethymnon is now 8 euro it take ten mins.meals at the camari abit small helpings but there again not expensive from 5 euros could do with a kettle and toaster in the apartments.even a tv, I don,t personally think its for children as theres not alot for them to do only the swimming pool. More of a holiday for couples . The village which is ten min walk has quite a few taverns which serve good traditional food and cost next to nothing and they too make you more than welcome.So on that note manos a big kiss and thank you captain jack sparrow for a great holiday well see you all next year god willing bye for now Spider and Chris

I have been going to Camari gardens with my family for 15 years!!
My childhood memories are ram packed with my summer holidays spent there and i feel i'v grown up with the boys who help run the hotel. You cannot fault the incredible family atmosphere where the staff will do anything to make your stay comfortable.
The rooms are spacious, cool and clean as are the two huge pools and the restaraunt serves the finest cooked meals at good prices.
Rethymnon is only a quick Taxi or Bus ride away where you can walk through the gorgeous old town with its narrow streets and traditional shops, the Venetian harbour is gorgeous at night!

The village is Gerani is a few minutes walk where the locals will greet you warmly and make you feel so welcome.

I love Camari i will highly recommend going, it suits families with young kids, couples old and young and groups of friends looking for a quiet getaway.
I will be going to Camari for many years to come, you won't be disappointed.

This family run hotel was recommended to me by a friend who has stayed there regularly for many years. From the very first day of arrival we were treated very well, and everyone was very friendly and polite and nothing was to much trouble.
The accommodation is very clean and well maintained.
The highlight of the week was the Greek Night, which has everyone up and dancing. The bar is very lively and caters for all tastes, you can sit outside and enjoy the sunset or stay inside and take part in the karaoke or dancing. The food at the hotel is also very good, and drinks very reasonably priced.
Nearby are some great beaches, and attractions, such as the aquapark.
Overall a great holiday, clean, friendly, and fun for all. I will now be telling my friends and family about this gem of a find.
