An excellent front desk staff that was courteous and helpful. My lovely room was at the top of the hill, with a tremendous view of the sea. However, a climb to the top for an elderly person requires planning. You only want to do it once a day! The food was excellent and the service polite and responsive. The breakfast mentioned in the prior review is not accurate – unless you are a very, very picky person. Transfers to and from the airport were efficient. Van service to town was efficient and on time, but you need to plan your visits around the schedule, which can be somewhat limiting. Taxi service is limited and available only after long waits. The hotel is remote to the harbor area and can’t be walked – a serious limitation from my point-of-view. The advertised beach area across from the hotel in not useable as it is all rocks – boulders – and impossible to easily navigate. The pool is, however, attractive and clean. Those who complain about the cost of drinks should remember that this is a remote island where supplies need to be shipped in at additional cost. Coupled with the declining dollar, prices are high. Complaining Americans should stay home if they can’t enjoy the uniqueness of a foreign culture – and can’t afford worldwide prices. An excellent value for my money, but I personally would much prefer to be closer the center of the town. But if you stay here, you will enjoy the entire experience - if you want to - and don’t miss Delos!
