The Hotel is in a great location, in the only free wind beach in the island, next to the best restaurant Nammos, reacheble by feets. The average room with a view is very far from the beach and an upgrade would costs you an arm and a leg. The Manager could be more friendly! All together a nice place but very overpriced.

We stayed at Mykonos Blu 4 nights during the last week of June 2007. I had booked an Executive Bungalow and requested a best-of-house for that specific type. After reading previous reviews, I was very ambivalent between the Mykonos Blu and the Royal Myconean--didn't know which one to go for. I asked a friend of mine in Athens who has been going to Mykonos every summer for the past 20 years and he told me that either one would be fine.

When we arrived at the reception the hotel management gave us the best unit for that price level, with a huge corner veranda / balcony. Since it was our wedding anniversary, the hotel manager kindly had a cake and champagne wait for us upon our return to the room the first two nights (this was a surprise, and a very welcome one at that)! Each day we would wake up to a majestic view of the cove and the sea, soak in the sun, take breakfast at our balcony, enjoy looking at the 3-4 luxury yachts anchored in the bay, and head down to the beach for a refreshing swim at the crystal-clear waters of the Aegean or get into the car and explore other beaches on the island.

The staff was amazingly friendly and attentive. The location of the hotel, wonderful. The hotel has its own section of the beach that is separate from the rest of the cove (to the right of the photos), and has its own set of chairs in the cove below (down a few steps from the hotel). The sea-water pool is very refreshing. There is service at the beach section where you can order light food and drinks (Did I mention that the staff was very helpful?)

True, prices are higher than what expected from the star-rating level. Eg, a beer or a cocktail may run into 15 euros (they bring you water, trays, and chips or peanuts with them). If this sounds too much, well, you don't have to order drinks--this is not an all-inclusive, all-you-can-drink where they bring you watered-down martinis or sparkling wine instead of champagne. Mykonos Blu is a high-end, expensive property, and you pay accordingly.

Similarly to other reviewers, though, keep in mind that there is a slight disconnect with what one may consider a 5 star property in the US or UK vs. Greece. If you're thinking of a Ritz-Carlton-level luxury for a 5-star property, that is not reasonable to expect, especially on an island like Mykonos, where both the style of the island, the size of the island, the architectural dictates, and the simplicity of the place (ie, the classical Greek standards) drive the experience rather than opulence, waiters with white gloves, and somone changing your chair pillows every time you lift your head up. As a result, you may find that the cost of food and drinks is on the high side for what you'd expect, yet the quality of food is excellent.

Sure, the whole 4 nights cost us more above $2500 (you pay extra for the breakfast delivered to your room) for the season & room type, but we had a memorable experience.

Would I go again? Absolutely.

Would I receommend it to friends? I already have.

Greek simplicity doesn't come cheap at the Mykonos Blu, everything has a serious price tag.
The bedrooms are decorated in a simple "pension" style, don't expect much luxury in these rooms, the beds are extremely hard and uncomfortable..
The staff are almost useless and supercillious as well as being annoyingly fake.
Do not advise dining - can be very disappointing .
1001 steps to hotel beach can be tiring in the heat. Very, very little for children to do, and the whole scene is for a 20 - "forever 40" age group, along with minibar & snacks on sale in the room, there's also condoms
On the good side, great views and lovely photo opportunities at the hotel but do a few good snaps make ammends for the feeling of disenchantment from my stay at Mykonos Blu ?

Myconos blu is one of the most dissapointed properties ....it is tottaly expensive and overpriced..the level service is average and with the same amount of monay there are hundrets other properties on the island(Myconos is paradise).
All the above didnt hurt me as the following....
out of the hotel,in touch with the wall of the outside enviroment there are so many rubish and garbage..a tottaly enviromental destruction..the hotelitselh has made many things like pipes and constructions for the pools that made the situation even worts..you realize that a hotel that you pay more than 300 hundret euros a day for a simple room didnt give the same amount of money to clean with its staff this horible area ......plastic bottles,things from heavy vechicles,and many many things made the area terrible on the path down to psarou beach....it is shame for this hotel and as ecologist i would even visit it for that reason.....even if it is not responsibility of the hotel (which i tottaly dissagre cause many of the teriible outdoor pipes is property of the hotel ), a 5 star hotel that didnt pay attention to its outdoor enviroment and the overprice abiltiy of this place gives this moto....we care about your money only!!!!!we dont care about enviroment,island,true hospitality.....rubbish place!!!
