At the risk of repeating what most others have said on this site, Tagoo is a gem! The people are superb and you feel part of the family, from the moment you are picked up from the airport.
We chose Mykonos as we wanted to do some 'island hopping', as we used to do 10 or more years ago. This time, however we had Imi (aged 10) and Archie (aged 6 - with his 7th birthday falling while we were at Tagoo). The plan was to fly (easy jet) to Mykonos stay a night and then explore some other islands. But a Brownie camp for Imi meant our planned two weeks became one, and frankly I was too in need of a total rest to be bothered to try travlling with the kids, so we decided to stay for the whole week at Tagoo.
Everything everyone else has said about the location (fabulous view), staff, cleanliness, atmosphere, pool, etc. is TRUE!
Anna is the most helpful charming hostess. Her aim is to give you a great holiday, not just a great hotel. That means she strives to inform you about all the things that Mykonos has to offer, what to do, where to go and what to avoid (not that there is much of that!). Yannis is firecly proud of Mykonos - with just cause, it's a fabulous island. Yes, it's not as cheap as we remembered Greece to be (a weak pound vs euro didn't do anything to help here), but if you compare against other holiday destinations of a similar high standard, it still works out well.
The best example to illustrate Tagoo, for us, was Archie's birthday. On the evening, Anna had sorted out a huge cake, iced with his name and decorated. She then got guests together in the early evening, as the sun went down, and everyone celebrated with Archie. This then rolled into an impromptu session of Greek dancing, led by Anna and Yannis. Everyone was fed with Annas home made cheese and spinach pies all washed down with Ouzo. Before anyone starts to think this was some 'staged' event with proffesional dancers in national dress and all that 'fake' package deal enteratinment type of stuff - this was two Greeks sharing a little of their hospitality and culture with their guests. A truely memorable evening, especially for one 7 year old.
Tagoo - A real gem
Thanks to all,
Carl, Jo, Imi and Archie
