At the risk of repeating what most others have said on this site, Tagoo is a gem! The people are superb and you feel part of the family, from the moment you are picked up from the airport.

We chose Mykonos as we wanted to do some 'island hopping', as we used to do 10 or more years ago. This time, however we had Imi (aged 10) and Archie (aged 6 - with his 7th birthday falling while we were at Tagoo). The plan was to fly (easy jet) to Mykonos stay a night and then explore some other islands. But a Brownie camp for Imi meant our planned two weeks became one, and frankly I was too in need of a total rest to be bothered to try travlling with the kids, so we decided to stay for the whole week at Tagoo.

Everything everyone else has said about the location (fabulous view), staff, cleanliness, atmosphere, pool, etc. is TRUE!

Anna is the most helpful charming hostess. Her aim is to give you a great holiday, not just a great hotel. That means she strives to inform you about all the things that Mykonos has to offer, what to do, where to go and what to avoid (not that there is much of that!). Yannis is firecly proud of Mykonos - with just cause, it's a fabulous island. Yes, it's not as cheap as we remembered Greece to be (a weak pound vs euro didn't do anything to help here), but if you compare against other holiday destinations of a similar high standard, it still works out well.

The best example to illustrate Tagoo, for us, was Archie's birthday. On the evening, Anna had sorted out a huge cake, iced with his name and decorated. She then got guests together in the early evening, as the sun went down, and everyone celebrated with Archie. This then rolled into an impromptu session of Greek dancing, led by Anna and Yannis. Everyone was fed with Annas home made cheese and spinach pies all washed down with Ouzo. Before anyone starts to think this was some 'staged' event with proffesional dancers in national dress and all that 'fake' package deal enteratinment type of stuff - this was two Greeks sharing a little of their hospitality and culture with their guests. A truely memorable evening, especially for one 7 year old.

Tagoo - A real gem

Thanks to all,

Carl, Jo, Imi and Archie

I stayed on Mykonos to take a day trip to Delos, not the night-life. If I were to do it again, I would stay on Naxos (very nice, and much cheaper) and take a boat to Delos from there.
Hotel Tagoo was a very nice hotel considering most hotels on Mykonos are very expensive. We paid 120 Euro a night, which according to the door post, is the most they can charge given the hotel rating. Upon arriving, they picked us up from the port and told us to meet by the pool in 15 min. Anna introduced us to other travellers staying the hotel which, if it were up to us, we wouldn't have done since we are on vacation for ourselves, not to meet others. She gave us restaurant suggestions which were pricy (even the cheap ones, but it's Mykonos) and a map which was helpful. The pool was wonderful!
The hotel is located ~15 min. by foot from town (downhill to town, uphill back) and has a great view of the sea. You need to take a bus or cab to the beaches though.
Like I said, I was on Mykonos to take a day trip to Delos, not the night-life. If was very expensive for a frugal traveller.

I just got back from my trip to Greece and I’m trying to think of all of the great things to say about Tagoo. It was the best hotel I’ve stayed at. I had so much fun there. When we landed at the airport Yannis was there to pick us up and when we took the ferry to Santorini 4 days later, Yannis dropped us off at the port. It was a huge weight off my shoulders not to have to worry about getting to the hotel. When we got to the hotel, Tony took our luggage and we met up with Anna and the rest of the new guests to get an orientation to the hotel and the Island (as well as a glass of ouzo). These tips are great! Anna has a map for you and her recommendations on restaurants, bars, beaches, and how to get there. And you don’t have to memorize everything she says, the whole Tagoo crew is more than happy to help you out when it comes time to getting a cab or finding a restaurant. You even get Anna’s cell phone number in case you have any questions. My friends and I made the mistake of heading to the beach without writing down how exactly to get back. With 32 cabs and a limited bus schedule, that was not very smart and not everyone is as helpful as Anna so we had a tough time finding our way back to the hotel, if we had only listened to Anna!!! The rooms were very clean and we had a great view and a little sitting area outside. The absolute best part though is the pool / bar area. I made so many new friends and just had the time of my life laying out and drinking with all of the guests. Jimmy made great drinks (which are the most affordable on the island), kept the music going, and made a good pizza or sandwich if you were hungry. Around sunset was lively where several of the guests were gathered, singing, drinking, and having a great time. We would even meet up with some of the guests for lunch or for a late night drink when we would head into town. The town was about a 10-15 minute walk from the hotel. Seeing as there is a cab / bus shortage, it was great being so close to the nightlife, shops, and restaurants. It was just a wonderful experience and I have been telling everyone I come across to go to Mykonos Greece just to stay at Tagoo. My friends and I are already trying to think of how soon we can go back. Thank you so much to the Tagoo crew for a great vacation, it just hasn’t been Business Time without you guys :)

From the moment you are met by Yainni to the moment you are dropped off at your departure point the Tagoo is wall to wall fun.
The Tagoo is superb, super clean, great views and runs like a well oiled machine from breakfast untill the last guest has decided to let Jimmy get some sleep..
Jimmy is one cool barkeep thats for sure..All the guests are friendly, exchanging either a good morning smile or passing on tips for your day at one of the varied beaches Mykonos has to offer..
Big shout to Tony for his muscle..Leah for her tireless work Jimmy for just being Jimmy and to Anna and Yianni for everything else...To all the gang, many thanks for a truly superb fourteen nights at the Tagoo Hotel..REG & EILEEN .

Sitting writing this after having returned from a month long honeymoon in Greece, we think back on our 5 days spent at Tagoo.
From the moment we arrived and were lead through the little blue doors, we knew we had arrived. Little did we know the next five days would be what memories are made of.

‘King’ Anna you are a gem, from the very helpful and precise description of what to do and see on Mykonos & restaurant recommendations your passion for what you do shows.
Jimmy you rock, thank you for the many entertaining evenings, good conversations and fantastic selection of music.

Tagoo is not only a hotel but a home away from home, and as we arrived as guests we leave as friends. It is beyond us why the previous bad review just didnt leave ,and make more space, as im sure there were may more people who would have appreciated Anna, Tagoo & Mykonos more.

Anna & Yannis, Vince & Mandy, David & Mel we hope to see you in South Africa very soon.

All our love Lesley & Wern (aka: Brandon)
