With the experience in 12 years of holidays at Greece's islands, and all previous '4 stars' that we visited so far, this hotel absolutely exceeded our expectations: the best we encountered so far !
We booked it as a 4 star A class accomodation, but it certainly performs as a 5 star !
Although booked just the standard "DeLuxe" room, we found a perfect room with luxurous facilities, none of the complaints that another reviewer wrote about.
Very nice, friendly and helpful staff (although the lady at the poolbar should train a bit in friendlyness and showing enthousiasm).
Spotlessly clean, everywhere.
Breakfast was at a level we see often in Greece and perfect for us (Dutch), but might be considered a bit too simple/limited for US/UK/French guests, who may expext some more choice.
Pool was excellent: good sunbeds and comfortable chairs, and enough availability during our stay, lovely quiet (NO disturbing/loud music), no screaming children, etc., perfect view over the sea.

Only negative remark: Due to the (approx) 50 steps, it is quite difficult to reach the hotel for people that have problems with stair climbing (like knee problems).
Recommended: everyone who loves quality, luxury, tranquility, cleanlyness, sea view, beach, pool and interesting Greece town.

Chora (Mykonos Town) is lovely with hundreds of lovely (narrow) streets with an excellent choice of nice shops, lovely restaurants, art galeries, etc. and if you carefully look at the menu cards/prices, you will find many places that are not expensive for dinner and drinks. Tip: Paraportiani and La Casa.

My husband and I just returned from Mykonos, where we stayed at the Grand Beach Hotel for a week. We had a wonderfull stay, every morning and evening we marveled at the breathtaking view from our room. We found our room satisfactory and luxurious . The poolarea was absolutely marvelous. The owner and Guestrelation manager are very friendly, helpfull and hospitable.
It's true, the other staff isn't as quick and serviceminded as their managers, and yes, the breakfast is a bit boring. I don't know if it was a typical greek breakfast or no fantasy on behalf of the cook? This was only a minor issue though and to be honest, we had lunch or dinner at the great restaurant right on the beach, called Joanna's-Nikos Place, which we thought to be the best restaurant in Mykonos . The hotel is a 10 minutes walk away from the lively center of Mykonos town and yet it's tranquil and peacefull if you want some rest. Just listen to the waves.....Overall it was the best place for us to stay in Mykonos town, also because it's beautifully situated. And I would certainly recommend this hotel to my friends and would love to return next year!

Just checked out of Grand beach hotel after 2 nights stay. We were originally supposed to be staying at the Vencia hotel. However when we checked in to Vencia they told us the previous guest in our room was seriously ill and could not move and the hotel was fully booked so they would upgrade us to a 5 star hotel. The hotel public areas (lobby, pool) were really nice and definetly 5 star and there was great view from the pool area. However thats where the positive ends. They checked us in a room on the ground floor facing the main road. It was really noisy when a bike or car drove past at night even when the doors were closed. The room lacked all the basic amenities for a 5 star hotel. There was no bathmat, glasses for water, no shower curtain even after we mentioned it to the manager the first night. There was only shower gel and shampoo in the bathroom. We asked the manager for an iron and told us the hotel does not have one which we found shocking for a 5 star property. The fridge was not turned on so don't even think of having a mini bar. Televion remote did not work. The breakfast was abit average with the usual cereal/
bread and a couple of hot food selections. Make sure you lock the door if you want to use the aircon. We only found out when we checked out of the hotel. The location was quite good as it's right next to the beach and about 10 minutes walk to town. Which was not too bad if it wasn' t so hot during the day. The spa looked like it was still under construction even though the brochur says it opened in 2007. The gym equipment was already worn and not working properly. Owners were really friendly but the same could not be said about the restaurant and pool staff. This place has the potential to be a 5 star hotel but too bad it's lacking substance. We cut our stay short and moved to another hotel in closer to town and alot cheaper.

Had a fantastic stay at the Grand Beach. Agree with other reviews that it is superb. The staff are excellent. Facilities and views wonderful. We always go somewhere different each year, (so many places in Europe to visit); however we will return to this hotel again.
