We have stayed already twice at this very nice 3,5 star hotel. Rooms had been in 2011 basic with not to expensive furniture, average bath room, but in line with a good international 3star hotel. There are three room categories standard, family (now suite) and apartment style. We stayed in standard and suite rooms. Actually there is not a big difference aside that suites are bigger and have a nicer balcony (some standard rooms have a pretty narrow but long balcony). Room service was not really convincing, but Ok for average 3 stars. Almost all rooms have direct sea view.
Breakfast was sufficient and really good quality. Pool area, reception and bar & restaurant quality are reaching 4 star level.
As the hotel is away from any bigger settlement you have to be aware that it is pretty quiet at night. Don’t expect more than a couple guests around the hotel restaurant or the good Italian restaurant next door at evening time. Driving time to Plaka for bars or more restaurants is 10-15 minutes to Naxos Hora 20-25 minutes.
The beach in front of the hotel have manly pebbles and is not really suited for swimming or sunbathing, but within 5 min walk to the right you will find along the coastline from Aliko to Faros some of the best untouched beaches in Greece. A couple of hundred meters to the left there is also a nice bigger, but a bit windy, sandy beach (Pirgaki area) with a small and simple Taverna (ask for the rabbit stifado).
Unfortunately when we tried to book Finikas for 2012 we figured out that the management had increased the price from 75 EUR (our pretty good deal in 2011) to 200 EUR for June 2012. Checking the rooms on their website I couldn’t see any change which could justify that price (e.g. same furniture).
To recap: Nice 3,5 star hotel with 4star pool in the middle of nowhere, set on one of the cheaper Greek Islands, no beach to speak about in front of the hotel, but perfect ones in walk able distance, for 200 or 250 EUR in June is pretty unworldly.
Dear management please revise your pricing strategy, otherwise people, who will expect an equivalent for that amount of money, will be deeply dissatisfied with your beautiful place.

I am more than happy to annouce that Finikas Hotel has joined the "Small Luxury Hotels of the World", by upgrading and renovating several parts and pieces of the puzzle, and of course by updating its services.
Finikas Hotel has renovated all the bits and pieces that can enhance ones' luxury experience in Naxos.
We do understand that our prices went up quite early and we do apologize if we mislead you. Finikas Hotel is now a properly updated hotel and you can double check online, in our new website, our new photos with the new setup of new furniture and well updated surroundings. Service standards, as well as every small detail is taken care of; in order to achieve the highest level of our guest's satisfaction and real vacation time. An example of these details include an action like the supply of new loungers and modern shading on the beach, new decorations and many many more.
The distance to the main city of Naxos is not more than a 25 minute drive, and yes we do suggest a car rental which our guests can get at beneficial rates when contacting the reception! We see our distance from the city as an advantage, due to the fact it offers to our guests exclusivity and seclusion.
We are excited to eavesdrop your point of view and please understand that our aim is to have happy guests that really relax and enjoy their vacation; after all that's what vacation is all about and exactly what we want to provide!
