We recently spent 2 nights at this hotel and were very pleased with it. The room and view were great. The location in an area with no cars was great too. Very quiet. Great service and attention to small details made this stay one of the best of our 3 weeks in the Greek islands. There is a pool and spa. Breakfast was very good. Many great walks to do in the village and around (ask the owner for a map), we could easily stay one or 2 nights more if the prices had been a little lower. We loved that island!

I have stayed at this hotel several times, met fascinating people from all over the world and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a comfortable room and a local island setting. [It is not for the 'gotta be on the beach' tourist - you have to take a car or bus to reach the sea - but the views are spectacular.]

“A beutiful hotel on a beautiful island”

Wow! This is a great place. This hotel is spread out in the form of a 'village' over the side of a hill overlooking the 'capital' of Sifnos, Apollonia. It is neither too big nor too small and is a very easy 5 minute walk from Apollonia

The rooms are large and airy with heartbreaking views over Sifnos. They are very modern, very clean and well-decorated inside and have a terrace outside.

The breakfast was served on a sun shaded terrace and is delicious. What is more, there is a swimming pool to cool off in.

The staff were friendly and helpful and made our lives very comfortable.

We did not stay anywhere else in Sifnos, but would definitely stay here again if we go back.

All in all a great base to discover the sleepy island of Sifnos from.

We enjoyed all aspects of the Petali! Beautiful, spacious room (triple) with a real KING bed; slippers for guests; refrig; beautiful views; private deck with chairs/table, line to dry clothes/bathing suits; clean pool (not too large) with lounge chairs; EXCELLENT breakfast (ham, cheese, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, sweet breads, breads, pasteries, cereal, milk, fresh OJ, fresh fruit, coffee) with incredible view from patio; car parking; short walk to Appolonia (down the path... uphill coming back) or to the other town going up the path... downhill coming back). We ended up renting a car (topless Matiz) and this gave us added freedom to go to beaches and sightsee. If we did this again, we would rent directly from the port (Kamares) and avoid the 8 euro cab fee to the hotel.

The tour book (Frommers) emphasized all the walking paths on the island. We found it much more challenging than presented - it was hot early in the a.m. and distances seemed much further.

Great island and one that we hope to return to... Sifnos and the Petali!

“Fabulous time in a charming hotel”

We stayed here for 3 nights in late September, our first time to the Greek islands. The hotel was charming! The property was laid out so that the rooms took advantage of the view, and we had a great ground floor room with a nice lanai - views of the ocean, the sunrise and the main town of Apollonia were steps away.

The staff was friendly and helpful (thanks again, Anna!), and there is breakfast included in the room rate. Nothing fancy, but nicely served in the outdoor area.

The approach to the hotel by taxi is kind of awkward, and looked very backwoods, but it was a false first impression. As soon as we got out of the cab we knew we had made the right choice.

Only negative? The pool was ice cold, we would've liked it to at least be tolerable.
