We visited the island of Sifnos in 23-30/10/2007.
First-the island is paradise for 40 years old and up, for the people who seek for peaceful and silent relaxing vacation. Young people who looks for clubs, loud music, ext, ext, -its not recommended. It was meant specially for people who want to get the special feeling of an authentic Greek island that still not ruined because of an over tourism. The Greeks themselves come for vacation to this specific island. The people of the island are most kind and helpful. All of them are calm people with smile on their face. And now for the most important thing - there is some phenomenon that called Kostas Kampourakis, who own the Morfeas pension at Kamares. This 36 years old man give you the feeling of family after 5 minutes that you know him. The man is warm and kind in an unusual matter. Ready to help you in any kind of request or a problem that you have, very intelligent and very polite. For us he was our guide and family for 7 full days.
His Morfeas pension is managed in a perfect efficiency. The rooms are brightness clean, the check in/check out are flawless. The location is perfect-50 meters from the beach but still in a remote place, not near the main street. So nothing can disturb your relaxation there. For an apartment that have an AC + TV + an equipped kitchen + laundry porch + sun porch + big refrigerator + private shower and toilet + continental breakfast + we paid 35 euro per day/night. The main street located 5 minutes by walk from the hotel. We hired a scooter for 10 euro per day and explored the entire island in 5 days. The weather was perfect also this time of the year. People who love nature will find this island magnificent.
For the Morfeas pension, I give the full 5 points that I can give and for its special charming owner Mr. Kampourakis even if there were 100 points.... it will still be nothing...
