Cheap and cheerful - and very good value for money. This is the second time I have stayed at the Belair and I was a little nervous going back, since people's experiences seem somewhat hit and miss. But I was delighted. This time we had a room on the north side so it stayed nice and cool during the day and was in the shade for a cold beer on the balcony after a day in the sun. On the downside there was some road noise - but we opted to go for fresh air over air con so had the doors wide open all night (don't forget mosquito repellent...). The room was basic but fine - comfortable beds, decent bathroom, good size balcony.
The pool area was very quiet and the water very inviting. We didn't drink/eat at the hotel except for breakfast, which I think was an improvement on my previous stay - bread, cornflakes, cake, juice, coffee/tea, and ham/cheese or yoghurt and honey on alternate days. Much nicer than I have had elsewhere in Greece.
We found the staff pretty unfriendly but spoke to other guests who raved about how friendly they are... so maybe it's in proportion to how often you've been and how much you spend in the bar?!
