Stayed here for 4 nights in early April. Hotel is v. conveniently located near the center of town, and is easily accessible by bus, car, or train. All the local attractions, the university, dining and the seaside were within easy walking distance.
The room was tastefully decorated, if a bit worn round the edges. Decently sized for Europe. Free wi-fi. Bed was comfortable, however it would have been nice to have a couple of xtra pillows (only 2 thin ones were in the room). Minibar stocked just fine, but costly...and missing a wine opener (which made a glass of wine or beer not an option) Bathroom was clean, and the products were completely acceptable. Only real complaint was the fact that the bathroom had a rather offputting smell of ...well, kinda like sewer/natural gas, which only dissipated when the window was left fully open for a couple of hours. Also, only one set of towels were in the room (had to ring down for a second set).
Did order room service 3x (2 continental breakfast - which is all they offer - and one dessert) Service was prompt and polite, food was good. Breakfast ample in a combo German/Continental style-meat, cheese, fresh fruit, yougurt, pastries and juice (exception was the coffee - ugh foul! Nescafe type grains, utterly disgusting!!). Dessert was absolutely delicious.
Reception staff was polite, helpful and v. efficient. Each request was promptly addressed. Wanted to get a manicure, and they rang round to 11 different shops to find an appointment for me (sadly no luck, all booked. Manicurists needed!) Think that the cleaning staff lets the hotel down a bit - lack of attention to details and they didn't even manage to get round to cleaning our room the first 24 hours (again, we had to ring down to have the room serviced).
All in all, good locale for business travelers and those wanting big hotel amenities.
