Stayed 5 nights at the hotel. Great location, but the hotel does not live up to the usual standard of Choice Clarion Collection. Room: worn and outdated, wallpaint lacking here and there, dirty windows and carpet. Only one type of soap in the bathroom. Food:Very little choice of breakfast which was late, should begin 0630, but the warm food seldom came before 0700. A nice touch was free evening buffet (also very little choice). I was shocked when the cook came during an evening buffet and grabbed a lot of food for himself with his bare hands (just grabbed sausages, salats etc!). Nothing to do in the hotel, no spa and no sauna. Free wireless broadband internet (whic really was "slowband"). Service: Lousy and unfriendly (especially the guys). Total: Big disappointment, stay away.

I had saved quite a bit of bonus points and wanted to spend them on a nice hotel in Copenhagen. I picked Neptun, since the clarion hotels are usually quite nice.

I got a nice big apartment with two rooms and an entrance, but it did not take long before i really disliked it. The bathroom was not clean, with spots in the ceiling and hair on the floor from previous guests. Also the light switch was loose. The sofa in the main room was broken, and the TV stand was defect. In the entrance, coat hooks were missing, In the bedroom, the over-bed lamp was hanging loose.

During the stay, I called the reception to ask when breakfast closed the next morning, and was told it closed at 11:30. When I went for breakfast the next morning at around 11:15, the breakfast buffet was removed, apparantly it closed at 10:30! I asked the receptionist why they gave me wrong information when I called the day before, and also mentioned the state of the room. He got really angry about me complaining, but after five minutes of discussions, he offered to check with the kitchen if they could arrange some slices of bread.

I filed a complaint to the manager, and they returned my bonus points and offered a free night on a later occation. However, this should be unnecessary! I actually went there the next year to collect my free night, and this time I got a decent room, but I don't think it was worth the price if I were to pay the full charge.

The location of the hotel is nice, close to the harbour, and to the central shopping area (5 minutes walk and you get there). It is also close to public transportation. However, if you are looking for a place to stay in Copenhagen, I recommend to avoid Neptun.

Please do yourself a favour and stay away. Please check the photos I have attached and you will understand why. This hotel is sub-standard and should be closed down by the Danish hygiene authorities immidiately. Your health will be a risk if you stay here. The room was so dirty I cannot use words. Flies all over the breakfast buffet table and the entire hotel smelled of damp and old. We checked out after one nigth there.

When I checked out the front desk lady knew exactly what I was talking about and she was in tears of embarresment!!!

Go there if there is no other option. I've spent three nights being on a business trip, last October. It is by no means a cheap hotel and it is rated 4*, so I have expected at least above average standard of accommodation.

First of all, the rooms are extremely small. Mine was the size of a shoe box and two of my colleagues didn’t get anything better either. Walls are thin, like made of cardboard, so you will have a great opportunity of hearing everything your neighbors are doing (or even better, people on the corridor). OK, I was away most of the day, so I thought, I can live with it. The thing I couldn’t live with it is that the room was filthy…even if the cleaning lady did her job better (which she didn’t), it wouldn’t be a huge improvement, since the whole building is in desperate need of renovation. Everything has a repulsive smell…I couldn’t put my clothes in the closet (the tiny one I had), since it smelled so bad that I’ve left my luggage unpacked. Beds have their separate story…I’m not a tall person, but for someone above 1’80 m, it would be impossible to sleep unless in a fetus position…probably they have ordered custom made small beds in order to fit them into these small rooms. I would go away if I wasn’t on a prepaid voucher and had more time to deal with it.

On the bright side, breakfast was relatively good. Second, hotel is very well positioned in Copenhagen – it’s in the walking distance from the city center, as well as major shopping areas, etc.

Copenhagen is a great city – be sure to visit it, just don’t stay in this hotel.
