This hotel, across the street from Tivoli and an easy walk to Storget and most other attractions in central Copenhagen, was designed (down to the door handles) by Arne Jacobsen, the prototypical designer of what is now called "Mid-Century Scandinavian." The hotel has preserved much of his design (even maintains room 606 as it was originally equipped and furnished) and has also done all the necessary upgrades to qualify as a 4 to 5 star modern hotel. The staff is exceedingly friendly and accomodating, the rooms quite comfortable and up-to-date (towel warmers and heated tile floors in the bathrooms) and the hotel is a fun place to stay in a great location.
