Finding an affordable hotel in Copenhagen is a difficult task as for one reason or the other, there aren't that much hotels.
Eventually we settled on the Park Inn near the airport, which was convenient as my girlfriend would be arriving with another flight than I was arriving on.
The hotel could easily be reached by bus from the airport, so the transfer was no hassle. The lobby was a little outdated with a small check in desk, but friendly staff. One minor detail was that the reception desk perse needed my reservation number which I forgot. They couldn't look it up under my name. So I needed to use the internet computer in the lobby to access my e-mail for the number. Not so nice.
The room was a complete dissappointment. What a rundown place! It's interiour clearly was a marvel during the 80's, but now 20 years later it definitely needed a revamp. The room had horrible colorcombinations, with purple and blue being the main ones. The bed was to soft and worn out, they could use new matrasses.
The bathroom was also old and outdated. You needed to shower in the tub, but the shower was hanging to low, so I couldn't fit under it. Also a nice detail was that the water didn't flow out into the sewer, it came up from a little put on the bathroomfloor, flooding the bathroom and eventually a small part of the room.
Breakfast was good, with a good choice and plenty to eat, so no comments about that.
There is a direct bus from the airport to the city center. The busstop is just across the street and the journey takes about 15-20 minutes depending on traffic, so that is not much. In the direct neighbourhood of the hotel isn't anything except some other hotels, a Scandinavian Airlines office and a little further on the airport.
All in all, the hotel was expensive for the quality it offered, with rundown rooms and flooding bathrooms. I hope they revamp this place soon!
