First time in Copenhagen: excellent city, very cold... Good hotel; regarding the service they are very fast, always ready for you and... "easy to go": no problem with the reservation or the advanced payment. The only little negative note: a very small bathroom and a very small shower! Excellent site, very near to the Metro for the airport and to the most living part of the city. Beautiful trip!

Right from the lobby of the hotel, right in front of the Reception Desk, our backpack with thousands of dollars of stuff, was stolen. It turned out that this same man, (verified by photos on their surveilance cameras), has robbed Hotel City's guests on numerous occasions, and the hotel has done NOTHING to improve their security system. In fact, the staff was uncaring and unconcerned, and could not be bothered with our loss.
Do yourself a favor and stay someplace else.

I stayed at the BW Hotel City in May 2007. The hotel is at 24 Peder Skrams Gade which is not as convenient as I expected. It is near the Kongens Nytory (square) and the metro stop at the end of the Stroget in a quiet, residential neighborhood. The hotel was easy to get to from the airport by taking the train then transferring to the metro (using the same ticket) and walking several blocks. I wouldn't suggest this method if you arrive after dark because the hotel isn't located within sight of the station. After you've been to the hotel once it's very easy to find but after flying in to a foreign country it might be very confusing. I arrived at 2:00 pm and had no problem since it was a nice sunny day.

As others reviewers have stated, the breakfast buffet was very good and the variety excellent. Fill up at breakfast and you can save some money at lunch. My only complaints had to do with the room size (very small), the bed size (small, only appropriate for someone 5'4" or less and 120 lbs or less) and the noise of the garbage truck at 6:15 am. Also, what's with the room key? I've stayed at hotels around the world and this is the first time I've ever received a key (on a door knocker!), not a card.

In summary, would I return, probably not - the bed was small, the location, while not bad, could have been better. The hotel features 2 PC's for public use in the lobby, no luggage room but luggage can be kept behind the front desk, close to Kongens Nytory and Nyhavn, hardwood floors, laundry service and heated bathroom floors, a nice touch on cold mornings.

I choose this hotel because it was easy to get to by public transportation and I left on the DFDS Seaways ship to Oslo and they had a free shuttle (#20E) from the nearby metro station to the boat for paying passengers from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

A nice quiet clean hotel with a good choice at breakfast, excellent value. Not quite as central as a map implies - its a 20 minute walk to the train station which I seemed to do every time I left the hotel (but then I also wanted to visit Sweden).

Reading the reviews below - large lockers are available to store luggage and the staff were very friendly.
