Slightly unfair to write a review as the Palace is currently undergoing a full restoration, however THIS acknowledged I was still driven to review this.

This impressive, multi-floor brownstone simply EXUDES faded glory and participation in history upon arrival.

Despite ground-floor refurbishment work, the former glory of the foyer can be clearly seen.

Staff VERy friendly and helpful. One downside is the elevators whose archaic manner of use was quite anachronistic in a city centre hotel IMO.

I stayed in a newly refurbished room on the second floor, and it was very impressive: a real air of class, and of having tried HARD to please in the refurb reigned here.

Lots of room, very fine bathroom, and a heavenly-comfortable bed.

All facilities worked well, but I was surprised to find I was to pay for WiFi in this day and age.

Location is quite awesome for access to the city centre, being adjacent to Copenhagen radhuis ( town hall) and a vast area of restaurants, shops and bars.

When the renovation is complete the Princess will give the Sas Royal a run for its money as the centres grandest and most personality-rich hotel IMO.

Recommended NOW to people who can accept the renovation in progress. Recommended in a years time to pretty much anyone who wants to stay in a fine, charismatic city centre hotel.

The Palace is currently undergoing renovations - the "lobby" is a mess, the elevators are terrible and the ladies room off the lobby was gross (no paper towels, just two cloth ones hanging off a hook). The location is not the greatest - very convenient to the Pedestrian street and the Copenhagen Lakes for a jog but otherwise it's only okay. The room itself was just fine except for the shower/tub height - very dangerous (and we are average in height). The breakfast buffet was barely average as well. The hotel signs say they are upgrading from a 4 star to a 5 star hotel. I don't believe they were a 4 star previous to the renovations and they have a LONG way to go to acheive 5.

“Paper thin walls - you hear everything and I mean everything!”

My first impressions of this hotel were positive. I was aware that renevations were ongoing when I booked the room but as I was going to be staying in a room that had been done up I was happy enough. The room itself was very nice if a little small but the problems only arose once I went to go to sleep. The walls must be the thinnest in hotel history as you can hear everything that's going on in adjoining rooms - and I mean everything. You can even make out the words in the conversation that people are having in the room next door and you'd better hope they don't stay up watching TV all night as you'll hear that too. And if they're having sex, you'd better hope they're quick! There is external noise as well but the hotel is right in the centre of town so you'd have to expect that so can't complain but surely when they were doing up the hotel, they could have added a bit of insulation to the walls.

Apart from that, the hotel is nice, staff very nice and helpful and the breakfast is excellent. Couldn't be better located either but the noise would put me off ever staying there again.

“New rooms excellent but noise from renovation work”

Some warning first the hotel is going through some major renovation and some noise from the workers early in the morning.

Lobby and part of hallway very shabby and old, but my room was brand new and very nice, toilet and shower/bath excellent and the room, nice big flat screen tv and everything you need for a pleasant stay.

Cleaning people knocking at the door too early in the morning and not once but at least 3 times before 11 o´clock?

Perfect location in downtown copenhagen.

The hotel is on the best central location you can imagine: right at the Radhusplatz. The hotel will be converted to a 5-star hotel, but is 3-star now.

I had a small renovated room under the roof. The new interior is elegant. Queen size bed, good desk, nice bath room. Big flat panel TV-screen with a lot of functions. Internet didn't want to work and the front desk staff was not really active in helping me.

The hotel functions while it is completely renovated, and this is absolutely necessary, but I did not experience any noise or what-so-ever because of that. During renovation prices are good value for money. I had to leave early next day so I didn't take breakfast. The railway station is on walking distance (10 min).
