We stayed at DGI Byen for 4 nights, and we were very happy with our choice. The hotel was very clean, the room was spotless, and the breakfast was excellent (bread, pastries, fruits, juices etc.). The best thing about the hotel was the pool area; it was free for hotel guests. It was very nice to relax in the pools after a long day (pool area was open until midnight). The staff were really friendly. The decor in the room and lobby was very simple, as is the style in Scandinavia.
The only negative thing is the location; while it´s very close to the train station and the city centre, the area was a bit scary, lots of seedy people hanging around after dark. I did feel a bit restless walking around after sunset. Also, because the train station is so close, you will need earplugs!
The hotel is making renovations around the grounds until the summer of 2008, so there will be some noise from the construction site (only during the daytime though, so not a big problem really), the area around the hotel is quite messy at the moment.
But i would definitely recommend this hotel, and would probably stay there again if I go back to Copenhagen.
