“Shabby but warm”

A four night stay in this hotel was warm which in view of the very cold weather was welcome but overall the hotel is in need of refurbishment and updating. The bathroom had a good shower but was shabby and lacked any refinemement. The hotel website is misleading as the hotel does not overlook the Tivoli Gardens nor is is adjacent to the railway station.
It is a good walk to both although it is straightforward.

Hairdryer had to be requested despite the website saying that they were in every bedroom. Pillows poor .

Breakfasts provided an extensive choice but there was no variety over the period of our stay.

My partner and I spent 3 nights at the Copenhagen Crown. We booked through Easyjet and because I was so cheap I had some concerns how good it would be. The Copenhagen Crown was above our expectations! It is easy to find despite my poor navigation and is 5-10 min walk to the main station and Tivoli. The rooms were actually quite big and we had a large double bed! The rooms were always warm and being set back form the road there was no traffic noise at all. Being an old building made the rooms bigger but the floorboards are creaky in the corridors and sometimes it felt like people were walking past your bed but it didn't keep us awake!
Breakfast was lovely and with a buffet style you can eat as much as you like. Not being a breakfast person I was able to take yoghurt and a pastry with me to eat a bit later! Other half however definately ate his fill of the breads, pastries and meats and cheese. Fresh juice and lots of coffee and we were ready for the day!
Copenhagen is beautiful and a quiet city in winter. The transport is brilliantly easy. We managed to get a train all the way up the coast to Helsingor on our CPN Cards. We even took the train to Malmo for about £20, Sweden was VERY cold but good for shopping!! Everyone is helpful and willing to point us bewildered Brits in the right direction and being cold, it's nice to make the most of the cake and coffee shops to warm up!
Save your pennies though because everything is very expensive, especially food.

I was really impressed with this hotel. The price is right, it's within short walking distance of the city centre and train station, and breakfast is included, which saves a considerable sum. The room was sizable, clean, with a nice view and very comfortable bed. The staff were extremely helpful and thoughtful. Free internet access in the lobby. Excellent buffet served on the top floor, with a range of fresh breads and substantial assortment of food and drink. I travel all the time internationally, and this economical hotel was pretty ideal and a pleasure to come back to at the end of the day.

“The rooms just stink!!!”

Copenhagen Crown Hotel

6 Feb 2008

One sure thing about Copenhagen Crown Hotel, the rooms just stink...it must be the central heating. The hotel has a good location as it is very central but quiet at the same time. However, the 1st problems arise from the moment you arrive... to enter the hotel there are 3 steep steps, so you have to lift your luggages and stay holding the doors to remain open, no facilities for disabled, at all. We were given a room and when we entered, it terribly stunk. I went back to the reception and told her about the matter and was reluctant to change the room...and finally she changed it for us...however the second room stunk too but not as much as the first. The room is quite spacious. However on the website, it says that rooms have a minibar and hair dryer...which were not present in our room. Breakfast was surprisingly good!!! Copenhagen Crown hotel is not a hotel I would recommend

“Great location”

Stayed at the Crown for three nights in early December. The location is within easy walking distance of the main attractions, and an easy wheel of the suitcase from Copenhagen Central Railway Station.
Despite being on a busy street, the hotel is set back via a Court yard which means that our room was very quiet at night.
Breakfast was good, and the only minor negative is that the rooms could do with a coat of paint as it was a little worn.
All in all I would recommend it if you are on a budget, Copenhagen is very expensive! but want to stay centrally.
