I booked a room through hotels.com the night before arrival, and at first they could not find my booking. Another guest with the same problem (through booking.com) was sent to another hotel because it was allegedly full at Kong Arthur. I had prepaid for my stay and after some discussing they managed to find it after all. We got a very nice room in the spa-wing of the hotel, quiet and good size.
The booking did not include breakfast, but that was fine since we wanted to sleep late (holiday without kids :) Around the corner is the cafe Bankeråt, which serves excellent brunches for 99 DKK. Plenty of food and very tasty!
The hotel is only a 5-10 minutes walk away from the start of the shopping streets (Fiolstræde and Købmagergade), 15 minutes away from Strøget.
The first night we walked to Havnegade, close to Nyhavn, where we had a first rate meal at the restaurant house called Customhouse. We ate at the Japanese place called Ebisu and can warmly recommend it!
I have already booked another weekend at Kong Arthur - in September, and look so much forward to staying there again.
