“Very nice”

Hotel Kong Arthur

I booked a room through hotels.com the night before arrival, and at first they could not find my booking. Another guest with the same problem (through booking.com) was sent to another hotel because it was allegedly full at Kong Arthur. I had prepaid for my stay and after some discussing they managed to find it after all. We got a very nice room in the spa-wing of the hotel, quiet and good size.
The booking did not include breakfast, but that was fine since we wanted to sleep late (holiday without kids :) Around the corner is the cafe Bankeråt, which serves excellent brunches for 99 DKK. Plenty of food and very tasty!
The hotel is only a 5-10 minutes walk away from the start of the shopping streets (Fiolstræde and Købmagergade), 15 minutes away from Strøget.
The first night we walked to Havnegade, close to Nyhavn, where we had a first rate meal at the restaurant house called Customhouse. We ate at the Japanese place called Ebisu and can warmly recommend it!
I have already booked another weekend at Kong Arthur - in September, and look so much forward to staying there again.

This hotel was wonderful! our room was large (for European standards). Our room was very clean. the breakfast is wonderful, but pretty pricey. I would def. stay here again. we walked every where without a problem.

I planned spontaneous trip to Copenhagen to meet my friend and found hotel on website. I like the hotel which is in a good city center location. Beside that the elevator to my room in 4th floor was not working for 2 days - the rest was fine with me. Very good breakfast buffet. I would recommend this nice hotel even the room are small but realy cozy.

Upon arrival and check-in I got a room near the elevator shaft, with window diametraly above an outside bar lounge - good luck sleeping in such an enviroment. Also the standard room was small, with zero view... Did I mentioned that it was small? :)

I went back and asked to change the room. All standards room were fully booked, but I could get an upgrade room for a surcharge. I was so unsatisfied with the room that I agreed to pay more in order to get a good night rest.

Placing rooms near elevator shafts is an abomination and I am lowering this hotels rating because of this. Such rooms should be used for the staff for putting away brooms and vacum cleaners.

The new room was spacious, with nice windows towards a calm area. The room was stylishly decorated and newly refurbished. Because of this the wardrobe was not fully assembled, some of the less important equpment in the bathroom was not yet in place.

The Internet was included but was not working at first, on the day of arrival. Also the electric ketle was not working, but the staff provided me with a thermos, filled with warm water, upon notification about the problem.

Breakfast was not included in the price. As a comparison, the neighbouring and a bit less fancy hotell Ibsens, on which I also have left a review, has a nice breakfast included in the price.

All in all, Kong Arthur is a beatiful and promising hotell with potential that is not yet fully realised. Considering the standard room I got at first, "by logical extension", standard rooms seem generally a bit small. Given that they never put people in a room in the immediate vicinity of the elevator shaft, I would consider increasing my review rating of this hotell by a notch.

Stayed in early December and had asked for a room in the new wing (Arthur 4). We had emailed the hotel the week before asking if the rooms had tea/coffee making facilities and received a reply for the assistant manager saying they would be in the room.
Nice greeting on arrival ,reception is very attractive and going to the new wing we were very impressed with the rooms.A good size with wood floors ,excellent bed ,flat screen tv etc and all the expected furniture and fittings of excellent quality.
Bath room was a shower only but again a walk in and excellent power and quantity of water .Lovely tiled floors and walls with good quality fittings and a very generous size.
Good breakfast in the nice breakfast room with plenty of choice and quantity although generally all cold items but excellent to set you up for the day.
Bar was fine at night with quite a few people in although not noisy and the staff were efficient in serving.
The new spa and wellness centre opened whilst we were there and again all new but looked extremely good.

Overall an excellent stay and good value for money
