We have just returned from a weekend holiday in Copenhagen. We stayed one night at Savoy. The hotel is centrally located- five minutes walk from central train station and Tivoli Garden (the garden is closed until April so we missed out). Frequent trains take you to/from the airport in 15 minutes.
The room was small and cheap furnishing reminded us of a student dormitory. The room was quiet and clean though. Beds were also comfortable. The bathroom was tiny which would’ve been the same size as a bathroom in an overnight train. The shower area is so small that shower curtains get in the way all the time. Water pressure was good though.
Breakfast included in the rate was simple but tasty. Buns, bread, yogurt, boiled eggs, cold meat, cheese, fruit juice, hot drinks were offered. There were no waiting staff in the breakfast room but one staff came out of the kitchen once in a while to clear tables.
Receptionist was friendly but he wasn’t very helpful. We asked about some excursions around Copenhagen but he had absolutely no idea about any of Danish towns outside Copenhagen.
There are many eating choices around the hotel. Restaurants and cafes within 5 meters of the hotel were popular with locals. Bakeries, a supermarket and convenience stores came handy as well.
Location of Savoy hotel is good. If you are on a budget and just looking for a basic hotel to just get some sleep, this is an okay choice.
