“Cosy, hot and crowded”

We stayed there during a weekend in July and boy was it crowded. We couldn't even get in to eat breakfast at 9.30 AM on the Saturday.
The room was very cosy and with space left over for two people. I especially loved the big windowsill where you could sit comfortably and drink.
The minibar was filled with local beer, even ecological brands and the hotel takes its responsibility with many ecological products.
The hotel is situated in the city centre, a ten minute walk from Tivoli and that felt okay.
The downsides were that it was a very, I mean very, thin passage to drive the car through to the parking lot and that the room got very hot.

“Quirky and friendly”

The entrance to the hotel is down a shabby passage, and one's heart sinks. Once inside you take the lift to the first floor, and are greeted by helpful staff, in an old building which has been sympathetically updated. The defining characteristic of this hotel seems to be friendly, enthusiastic, helpful staff. Though sometimes a little amateurish - drink and food not being topped up at breakfast for example (and the breakfast is good, but doesn't deserve the superlatives which some reviews give it). We chose a back room to avoid street noise, probably a good move on this busy street (though we didn't test the front rooms to compare) and we had a balcony overlooking a private parking lot. The rooms were quirkily, stylishly decorated, but had some surprising small faults - no shelf to put your washing kit, for example. Ten minutes walk from Tivoli, so a good location. We'd certainly go back there.

Friendly staff, clean and modern room and a very good breakfast. Bit of a walk to the station but not too bad, it feels like a residential area but the city centre is walkable.

“Cozy & Lovely”

Carlton Hotel Guldsmeden

OK, its Copenhagen, its expensive everywhere at expect to pay 1300 DKK for any 3/4 star hotel. Now thats over this cost 1300 DKK and was excellent. If you want a corporate hotel it is not for you, if you want a personal hotel with extra thought from people who really care this is for you!

small but lovely rooms, amazing breakfast, excellent service and 10 mins from the centre on foot. Try the Vietnamise restaurant around the corner for evening dinner.

I stayed here for one night and my experience was generally good. The hotel's arranged over two buildings, with the reception on the first floor of what appears to be an old townhouse. It's a bit complicated getting to your room as there are codes and doorbells all over the place but once I found my room in the rear building, I was pleasantly surprised. Very clean, very comfortable and the wireless internet worked a treat. Breakfast is in the same set of rooms as the reception and is all organic breads, jam and ham and very tasty. A perfectly good weekend hotel near(ish) to the centre of town.
