If you're looking for something that's cheap and clean, this is the place. Just don't stay more than a few days... cuz it's not high on the comfort scale.

It's built on the model of a cruise ship. Everything is done with space-efficiency in mind.

Most rooms have bunk-beds. It includes free internet access and has a desk and a tv. But that's about it -- there are no comforts here...

I am a tall traveler (2 meter) and this place is difficult for me to stay at. The bathroom is TINY. It's about size of a phone booth, with extreme space-efficiency in mind... the whole bathroom is meant for one person to use to do one thing....

The room includes breakfast, which is really quite nice --and-- is the one saving grace to this place.

Stay here if you are on a budget and are only staying a short time... or are planning to spend NO time in your room.

This is not a great place for business travelers....

The Cab Inn advertises itself as being chepa luxury, in relaity it is apart from its location near Tivoli and the centre of Copenhagen, a terrible experience.

The staff are rude and unfriendly, and as we later found, the people of Copenhagen fitted this description also. A standard double room consists of bunk beds, and the staff would not change us to double bed or two single beds. If its had been an elderly couple they no way could have got into the top bunk.

To top it, this was booked from the Visit Copenhagen website and they are masters at overhyping and overrating alot of what the city has to offer.

Read my Copenhagen info for a complete city review.

Do not stay though, at Cabb Inn hotels unless you like rude staff. How one guest managed to not get irate with their problem I do not know.

“Our worst hotel experience”

We only booked at the Can Inn Hotel for our last night in Copenhagen as our other hotel was unable to accommodate us for a fourth night after we decided to extend our stay. We booked on the recommendation of the tourist office and were told that it was a 3 star hotel. It is in fact now only 2 star - the brochure is rather misleading. We were not able to get into the room until 3 p.m. and were charged for storing our luggage from the time we arrived at 10.00 a.m. The number of the room we were eventually allocated was different from what we had been told when we first arrived at the hotel. The room had the following faults as far as we were concerned:- It was in poor condition. Both Venetian blinds were broken, one badly. The toilet/shower was so small that the shower curtain was pushing against my knees and face when I used the toilet. The curtain rings were broken. It was very stuffy and we could not open the windows until a staff member managed to open it. It was tiny with very little space for cases. We had to haul one bed out which was not easy for elderly guests. Internet facilities were available (at a cost, unlike our other Copenhagen 2 star hotel) in the lobby but we had to stand up to use it. It was advertised that CNN was available on the television sets in all rooms but it was only available on the sets in the public areas. Coffee was available in the room but only in foam cups. I complained to the manager about the room but as he was unhelpful, I went back to the tourist office and made a verbal complaint which I havbe since followed up in writing. With such a late admission time, it was too late to change hotels. I always look for budget accommodation but I cannot remember a worse experience in a hotel in the 7 European trips I have made.

stayed here at the end of Sept, unseasonably warm. Tiny room, weird shower, no way to cool room, except open window, which meant noise all night from rowdy smokers outside. Staff was pleasant, helpful, breakfast was fine.

“Cheap but definitely not luxurious”

Cab Inn City

We spent the nights of August 30 and 31 2006 in this hotel. This hotel while clean, is nothing but a cleaned up hostel. The double room is so small one can hardly find room for any luggage whether large or small luggage. Fortunately we weren't hanging anything because what functioned as our closet had only two hangers.

There was no way to open the window wide enough to attract any breeze therefore the room was quite hot and stuffy. The double bed was two benches pushed together, proving to be quite uncomfortable. The bathroom contained a toilet, sink, and a very small shower with the drain in the middle of the bathroom, thus causing a minor flood when showering. Two scratchy towels were provided and one bar of soap... no glasses of any sort.

The buffet breakfast was cereal, hot milk, coffee, juice, cold meat and cheese with coffee dispensed from a machine. The toasting machine was not working when we were there.. there were bread, rolls, butter and jam.

The staff was neither helpful or cheerful. The best things going for Cab City are: location, good working elevator, and free internet. This hotel maybe cheap (if you consider about $140 a day cheap with absolutely no amenities or services) but certainly the descriptive term "luxurious" does not apply.

There must be a better hotel in Copenhagen
