“Okay for the price but don't expect much”

Quality Hotel Nacka

22 Jun 2008

The hotel is located outside of Stockholm-City, train and bus transportation is available but not all-night-long. To take the bus was not very easy as there was no time-table available in the hotel or bus station (and the hotel staff seemed not to use the bus as they couldn't answer our questions).
Don't go by car to Stockholm-City. There is parking available in front of the hotel so this was a plus.
The room was on average size, the interior of room and the entire hotel was pretty outdated and quite used, the walls as well.
The best was the nice view over Stockholm.
The breakfast buffet: food was with good quality but the breakfast room was very crowded, the staff was not really organized (they didn't even clean the tables so we had to ask for something to do it ourselfs - I didn't want to sit on a dirty table...).
W-LAN was available in all rooms and for free, ask for the code every day again as the code will be changed every day.
The staff was not very friendly, service-oriented nor helpful. I remember that they ask me a very indiscreet question during check-in (as we asked for a double-bed and not for two single beds which is the normal Swedish hotel standard as often business people are sharing rooms).
I had the impression that the hotel was very good at the time of opening (years ago, may be) and than they did nothing to keep the standard on an average level.
If you travel with children they have some special amenities - a kids-check-in and free ice-cream every day which is a nice idea.
Finally, we will not choose this hotel again. The reason we had to was that there was no other hotel room available because of an international sailing event at this time.
If you only look at the price - which is/was really low for Sweden - and if you don't expect a lot of comfort and style than you could probably choose this hotel.

“Good value, not four star”

Quality Hotel Nacka

24 Apr 2008

The Nacka Quality is close to Sickla’s new shopping centre and about 5 km E of Slussen, Stockholm’s downtown transportation hub. While suburban, the hotel is well served by buses and is close to a train station. There are good views, especially from the upper floors. The décor is minimalist Swedish bland and the rooms are adequate but unmemorable. The immediate area is residential and closes down early. The staff are pleasant and the buffet breakfast is above average. The official four star rating is optimistic but the hotel is a good three star base for budget conscious travellers who don't need nightlife at their door.

“value for money”

Quality Hotel Nacka

18 Mar 2008

Trying to find a reasonable hotel in Stockholm isn´t easy. The happier we were to find this little gem a bit outside Gamla Stan (Old Town) but only 5 mins on the bus to town. With the bus and train right outside the door it couldn´t be any more convenient. A cab is about 8 Euro into town.

The hotel offers lovely buffet style breakfast which room service upon request. The restarurant serves delicious local cuisine and the staff was more than friendly and helpful. If you are unlucky with the weather and you don´t fancy leaving the hotel, the small pool and sauna in the relaxation area are the best way to spend the day. When I go back to Stockholm, I´ll go back to Quality Hotel Nacka.

“Not bad”

I stayed at Quality Hotel Nacka for four nights during a business trip to Stockholm.

My room was very nice, for the first time ever I actually thought that the room was nicer than the reception area :)
Clean and fairly big.

Breakfast was very good, bacon & egg, meatballs and other hot food as well as a good selection of bread and cold meat.

Friendly staff and free internet access adds to my positive view of this hotel.

This said, the location isn't the best (not in central Stockholm) but there are some restaurants and shopping possibilities in Sickla Center across the road (a five minute walk, but a bit hard to find... Take aim at an old red brick building)

The pool/sauna/gym wasn't fantastic.

All in all, good value for money.

“Cheap & okay but not central”

Quality Hotel Nacka

Normally I'd stay somewhere more central for a city break but the rates were cheap and it was supposed to be a 4* hotel. The location actually wasn't too bad even though it was in the suburbs - it's right next to Sickla station (which has trains going to & from Slussen every 20-30 mins) and there's a bus stop right outside that goes directly to Slussen too. But it's not really close enough to just pop back for a cuppa or drop off your shopping, and that was a bit inconvinient on the last day because I had to take my luggage into town after checking out instead of being able to pick it up from the hotel baggage room later on.

The bedroom was a good size & quite clean but a bit bare. There's no tea/coffee facilities in the room and nothing in the mini-bar. Room service was a bit patchy: breakfast was available (although they kept forgetting to bring everything) but there was no menu in the room for lunch/evening meals (although you could order from the bar & get it sent up). Nothing vegetarian. Limited english TV except for movies at 95SEK per viewing.

On the whole, it wasn't bad for a long weekend but if I went to Stockholm again I'd probably stay somewhere in Gamla Stan instead.
