This is one of the most wonderful hotels in Scandinavia. Small, picturesque, friendly, clean, excellent service, etc... Its located about 10 minutes by ferry from the central subway station.
The hotel sits just up the hill from the Nacka Strand Yatcht Club, where you can catch a ferry to anywhere in the city for just a few SK($). Also, the menu is excellent and the bartenders pour some great martini's at happy hour.

We stayed at the Nacka Strand "J" Hotel for 3 nights in August, and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The peacefulness of the location--quiet, on the water, yet easily accessible to Stockholm by water taxi or car--was just what we needed after a 5 hour ride from Goteborg. The reception staff offered an after-hours late supper of sandwiches and beverage and were pleasant and helpful with directions and suggestions. The breakfast buffet, included in our room rate, was absolutely wonderful in the Scandinavian tradition. An honor bar set up in the lounge every evening was well-stocked and self-serviced, next to a lovely and welcome small fireplace which helped take the chill out of the late summer night. Our room was pleasant, with an exceptionally clean bathroom with heated floors, and was very quiet, located facing to the back of the main hotel building. If possible, ask in advance for a room facing the water, as the view is so lovely.
We would certainly stay there again, and recommend it without hesitation as a terrific value in a lovely city.

Relaxing hotel in nice quiet setting on the water. Stayed for two nights and really enjoyed it! Would definitely stay there again. Clean rooms, nice bathrooms, friendly staff, fabulous breakfast buffet! The reception was open 24 hours (and there is free internet in the lobby) which was great when we were up in the middle of the night and couldn't sleep from jet lag! 15 minute ferry ride from right near hotel to city center cost 50 SEK one way or 75 SEK round trip. Very convenient!!

We spent 4 days in Stockholm and 4 nights in hotel J.This place is very green:
hotel stays between pines, near sea -so blue.Very comfortable and warm.
Stuff is helpfull and warmhearted. All girls-stuff,who work there, make kind and home atmosphere. Breakfasts were very good.
After noisy town we could rest near fireplace or in the yard .
But...you have to know, when you are going to town and hotel: if you want to have short(15 min) boat trip you have to know timetable of them.So you depend on timetable( 30 min-1hour between boats).
If you like design hotels, hotel J - is good solution for summer time.Sunsets there are very beautiful!
