We spent the New Year's eve in Stockholm (Dec 29th - Jan 1st) and here are our comments.

Location: close to... everything! Train station (Arlanda Express), metro, shopping districts and the Old Town (+/- 10 min walk). This is perfection.

Room: big enough and really quiet. Only drawback: the bathroom. Needed refurbishment, was really tiny and shower "delimited" by a curtain.

Reception: professional, polite, helpful people.

Breakfast: average buffet selection but was ok.

All in all, excellent price/quality ratio. We had a very nice experience and Freys Hotel is a good place to stay for a city trip.

Just back from stockholm,stayed at the freys hotel. brilliant location, right in the center of the town. room was a little bit on the small side but its clean and comfy. the staff could not have been nicer. they gave us a room extension for an extra 3hours on our deparure day,for no extra charge.
the breakfast was lovely,worth getting up for and the restaurant food was delicous. the bar though only sells belgian beer and no cocktails, a little bit disappointing. 5mins walk from the central bus and train station. if i go back i will defo stay at freys.

I think all the other reviewers have summed up our experience also.

Fantastic location in terms of transport and walking distance to the centre of town.

Great modern, rooms , which although small are very clean.

The breakfast was fine. Not the best I have had but OK.

Helpful staff.

Positives:

Short walk to train station. Professional, helpful, friendly front desk personnel. Nice, large breakfast area that doubles as a bustling restaurant/bar in the evening. Clean, nice room with attractive, warm decor. Easy walk to restaurants, touristy but interesting Ice Bar. Decent shoulder season pricing for the central location. Free Internet in lobby.

Negatives:

Smallish room and bathroom. Bathroom needed significant updating to match the rest of the room's updates. Single Internet terminal was often occupied during our brief stay. Bustling city location not terribly attractive, but practical.
