I visit Stockholm as often as possible, I have a daughter and 4 Grandchildren there. The Wallin Best Western Hotel is the place to stay. It has excellent rooms, excellent service etc. they nearly all speak English and even if I am on my own they are more than happy to make your stay wonderful. I give them full marks one of the best hotels I have stayed in.

My daughter and I stayed here for 4 nights. I was slightly worried that it might be too far from the main sites, but it was really well situated - a 15 minute walk from Gamla Stan, and right in the middle of the main shopping area (Drottninggatan). There is no metro station nearby, which might be a problem for some. The welcome was quietly efficient, the rooms were clean and modern, with comfortable beds, tea and coffee and good bathrooms, and there was a good lightlng system. Soundproofing was absolutely fine. I asked for a fan to be put in the room as I went out, (no air con) and it was there when I returned. All staff spoke excellent English.
Breakfasts were really good, with loads of choice, including hot food, gravad lax, a variety of breads, cheeses and meats, and fruit and cereals. . One morning there were no tables in the main seating area, but we found room in the lounge area. I suspect that mid-week in the height of the season when business people are jostling with tourists there might be more of a problem.
There is free internet in the lobby, and the hotel will print out pages for you. There was often someone using it, but not invariably, and the wait was never longer than a few minutes.
There are restaurants in the main shopping street and to the north of the hotel, near Odenplan - about a 15 minute walk - as well as in Gamla Stan.
I wouldn't say our stay was a warm and wonderful experience, but the hotel was exactly what we wanted - well-furnished, reliable, convenient and efficient.

We stayed in the Wallin for 4 nights, each in a single room. Unbelieveable value at €50.49 per night on the early special on their website. The room was very well decorated, with a large bed, plasma flatscreen TV, safe,tea and coffee making facilites and large bathroom. The room was very clean. The hotel has very nice modern decor, breakfast is continental with rashers, sausages and eggs available too. There is free internet in the lobby. The staff are very friendly, the gym is one street over. The location is great! Only around the corner from the main shopping street and 5 mins to the train station where the airport bus stops. Gamla Stan is a 20 min walk, and there is a tube station 5 mins away.

I stayed here with my wife and booked their best room (it was her birthday after all!), the double executive deluxe. They have to of these rooms and my parents booked the other one. Theirs was perfect (488), ours was just short of perfect (466) as the safe was broken and the shower flooded the bathroom. The rooms on this executive floor sound much bigger and better sound proofed than the others I have read of in these reviews, so remember to ask!
Breakfast was okay but there are just not enough tables so many people were left standing around waiting. We ate dinner there on the first night and I was quite impressed with the food considering how basic the dining room was. Beware though, the bar and restaurant are closed on Sundays.
The location is wonderful and I would recommend this hotel as a good three star not the four they claim.
