I stayed at the Elite Palace on a sightseeing visit to Stockholm June 1-6. The hotel was a very good base overall, with a few specific factors that may make a difference to you, depending on your preferences. Location is fine if you're using the subway or other public transportation...it's only about 3-4 stops from the central train station. The nearest subway station (St. Eriksplan) is about a 5-10 minute walk up the street, and there are some good restaurants and a variety of small stores along the way. The front desk staff is friendly and everyone speaks very good English. Our room was on the small side by US standards but was consistent with the size of other European hotels I'd visited. The absence of air conditioning was the biggest negative, as it was warm while we were there and the sun was very bright at almost all times of day and night, since it was June. The windows opened only a crack, and while this helped the temperature and air circulation a little, the street noise was noticable. Our bathroom had a shower but no tub, with a plastic separating wall that worked fine. Other rooms may have different characteristics or configurations. The breakfast buffet was good and very comprehensive--no problems running out of food while I was there. The English pub is great--good food, friendly staff and a large selection of beers and other beverages. All in all, I would stay there again, except that I'd probably think twice in the heat of summer based on the lack of A/C.
