“we loved this hotel”

Nordic Light Hotel

6 Dec 2007

I booked this a suprise trip for my partner. It was recommended by a friend. We had a light room - if you book through a travel website you may not automatically get one of the rooms with lights you can play around with - i had to up-grade. The location was great, the hotel was stylish but not brash, staff helpful, room luxourius. Buffet breakfast great. COcktails at light bar were fun. All in all we loved it I'd recommend it to anyone who wants somehwere central to stay in stockholm - I'd go back

“Great hotel - really comfortable beds.”

Chose this hotel after doing a lot of research on trip-advisor.

Stayed there for 3 nights with my wife on a B&B basis.

Booked a package - champagne and chocolates on arrival, breakfast in room, upgraded room with mood lighting etc.

Whole stay was fantastic. Rooms large, modern and spacious. Mattress and pillows fantastic - Hastens if I remember correctly. Amazingly comfortable and best sleep we've ever had in a hotel.

Immaculately clean and furnished to the highest standard. Breakfast delivered to the room was fantastic - a feast!!

We'd definitely stay at this hotel when we return in the future.

Ice bar at the sister hotel (Nordic Sea) directly opposite well worth a visit.

Stockholm itself is a great city to visit - lots to see and do and immaculately clean and tidy.

I had a very short stay at the Nordic light and wished I could have been there for longer. The design is so interesting and the mood lighting in the rooms was lots of fun. The breakfast was really great as well.

The hotel is well located. It is a very short walk to the shops and an easy stroll to the Old Town. It is across the road from the Ice Bar as well which is worth visiting if you are looking for something fun to do.

“Loved it”

Nordic Light Hotel

28 Oct 2007

My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel for 2 days over the weekend and we loved it. We booked in June and the only problem was that we were under the impression that EVERY room had the LED lights system, however standard rooms do not. Its an extra 500 krona per night for the room with mood lighting if its standard, but 800 krona per night if you want a couch too(!) We upgraded, and the problem was sorted. The hotel was gorgeous, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and the hotel was right in the middle of everything, it seemed. The Ice Bar was across the road, and we were like a 5 minute walk from some great shopping centres. Be warned though -saturdays are extremely busy, and on sundays everything practically shuts down -aside from the shopping centres, that open at 11am. We didn't want to come home today, and were planning our next trip there on our way home!

    • Disliked — having to pay extra for the room we thought we had in the first place

“Best Hotel of Our Scandinavian Trip”

What's not to love about this hotel. Yes, it's mod. But the staff was great - very friendly and personable. Without asking we were upgraded two room levels to a mooood room - very nice! Our room was on the top floor, the 7th, with a view out front. Very well appointed, with a thick robe (though only one), and nice toiletries. The bed was supremely comfortable.

Of course, once it got dark we were able to take advantage of the lighting system which really was pretty cool. Definitely had the feeling you were in someplace special.

A worthwhile splurge was the Ice Bar in the adjoining Nordic Sea. Not cheap for 45 min in a room of ice and a drink, but a lot of fun. Get the hotel to make the reservation for you as we doubt we would have made it in otherwise.

Breakfast was fine with lots of good choices, but the seating area was a little cramped. No big deal.

A bonus: the Arlanda Express train to/from the airport is literally next door - barely have to step outside. The central train station is almost as convenient, though a bit more of a walk within the station complex.

This is a great choice!
