“Love the hotel !! Modern simplicity hotel”

A modern simplistic hotel in Stockholm, representing Nordic designs in the hotel - from the brochures to the magazines, breakfast and eating utensils.

Hotel - we got the basic room; didn't book for the light mood rooms, as it was already spring and daylight was good! Even the basic rooms are spacious, clean and simple. Bath toiletries are great (you can always ask for more!).

Location - strategically located next to the main train/coach station. You could walk to the City Hall and explore the city by foot from this hotel.

Food - Breakfast is simple and nice, no complains. Standard continental breakfast. We too tried the lunch menu - Light Lunch - not too bad! The IceBar is worth checking, just opposite the hotel (Nordic Sea).

Overall experience was great. We enjoyed the design concept hotel, and will go back.

I have stayed in this hotel 3 times, each time for business and booked through our corporate travel agent.

For reasons unknown to me, each time I have stayed I have had a progressively smaller room to the point that this time my room is ridiculously small with a slightly larger than single bed pushed up against the wall. The toilet is right next to the sink (hide the toothbrushes!)

To add insult to disappointment, the breakfast is no longer included in the rate - an included breakfast is always a nice touch, especially for a business traveller who then doesn't have to weigh up the per diem (Stockholm is expensive and I find it the standard Australian per diem for stockholm is not reflective of the expense of this city) against the breakfast charge.

Having looked at reviews of other hotels I think I could have done better with the company's $350 or so AUD.

Having said that, the reception is always very friendly and helpful and it is a breeze to roll up to the hotel after hopping off the Arlanda Express train. The reception is funky and a great place for drinks. When I first stayed at this hotel I loved it but it hasn't consistenly lived up to its first impression and I'm not sure if there is enough to keep me coming back.

Quite a minimalist hotel. Even from the outside, it seemed 'hidden'. Located very near the central train station and convenient for central Stockholm.

On the inside, you were greeted by very polite receptionists. Check in was a breeze. The room I stayed in had the special lights which one could alter to suit your particular mood. There is also the opportunity to order a special light box, to help lift your mood. Whether it contributes to a placebo effect, I hadn't had the chance to find out.

The room was quite small. It was however very clean. I had six hypoallergenic pillows with an extremely comfy duvet!! The bed was also very comfortable. For such a modern hotel, one wonders why LCD TVs were not provided. Had to stick with the old fashioned CRTs. The bathroom was also on the small side. It was however modern and clean. Very Ikea-like.

The hotel bar was next to the reception. Quite informal and open. I did not have to chance to visit the spa. Breakfast was included in my room rate and I must say that the food provided was of good quality, especially the bacon, eggs and sausages!! The choice was vast, from fruits, breads and a continental breakfast selection.

Overall, the experience I had was a pleasant one, only marred by a small room. The light features of the hotel did not mean much to me and it had no effect. A boutique hotel with a twist.

Stylish hotel just steps away from the Arlanada Express train station. Many rooms here have light therapy setups which kinda makes sense considering the long dark winters.

True the lights are a bit gimmicky and you'll either love them or hate them, but this hotel was just what I was looking for at the end of a long flight.

It's situated right at the end of the platform for the Arlanda Express and was a five / ten minute walk to the main business district. My flight arrived at 23:00 into Arlanda and I was settled into my room within an hour.

Check in and out was friendly and efficient, the room was a decent size and clean. There were lots of traces of that famous Scandanavian design flair aside from the lights.

Can't fault it
