I really like the time around Lucia. The dark nights are light up with the candles in the windows. So I visited Stockholm the last 5th Decembers.
This time I choose the Sven Vintappare Hotel. A small hotel with 6 double rooms and one suite. It’s located in a small street near the main street of Gamla Stan(the old town). So you are in the middle of Stockholm. The next underground station is not far. There is a small café in the hotel. You also get your breakfast there.
After arriving you get your room key and the pin code for the door. The code is important. There is no 24h service at this hotel. The friendly staff is at the hotel from breakfast time until the café is closed. After that you need the code to get inside the hotel. You get also a telephone number if you need help at night.
After some high stairs you get to your room. My superior room was a big room with a double bed, 2 chairs with a small table and a working desk. There is also a document safe, a small LCD TV and a CD player/radio combination. I also liked the pantry with dishes and water heater.
The only two things I didn’t like were the small bathroom and the not soundproofed windows. Both things can’t be changed. There is no room for a bigger bathroom and the new windows would not fit to an old building.
The breakfast was really good. I got roll, croissant, ham, cheese, jam and yogurt. Some orange juice and a good green tea make it perfect.
Sometimes I like to change my reviews. I wrote for the Hilton Slussen : “My favourite hotel in Stockholm”. This changed after staying at the Sven Vintappare. You don’t feel like a hotel guest. It’s like having a flat in Stockholm with the comfort of a hotel. Now I have a second favourite hotel in Stockholm.
