Stayed in the Clarion Sign this past w'end (Fri May 2nd & Sat May 3rd). It was a lovely hotel cosmetically & very comfortable. The staff were very friendly & prompt (and I did have a door on my bathroom !!!). But a few niggly things annoyed either me and or my friends who I was sharing with. There were no tea & coffee facilities, now I'm not a huge drinker of either but my friends are & it bothered them alot that after a day walking around the beautiful city of Stockholm that they had to go back down to the hotel bar & buy (weren't offered) a cup instead of being able to veg in the room & make one there. Also there's a beautiful pool/spa in the hotel, which is advertised at every turn. But after squeezing in to the oul speedo's and taking the elevator to the 8th floor, I was informed that it would cost me 195SEK to gain entrance, the price of a day pass..... now it was 6:30pm and all I wanted was a refreshing dip and sauna after a 2nd lovely day of sightseeing. So I was very dissapointed that there was a charge (which I didn't pay, went and had a long shower instead !!! ). There wasn't any mention of the enterance fee on any of the advertisments around the hotel and the only place I found any mention of it was a by the way one liner in the info book in the hotel room. I have travelled a fair bit round Europe & parts of the world and have never been asked to pay, as a residing guest, into a pool or sauna situated in the hotel. There are many other comfortable, well maintained hotels in Stockholm with pools & I shall stay at one of them in the future.
